Hi guys, I'll be back with this thread soon, the Peddinghaus decal set has arrived.
Next Tuesday will be benchtime !
I think I need four more hours to finish the build of the WR360.
With a bit of luck I can start airbrushing soon.
I don't have a mojo issue, it's the time consuming garden now and the household...

Looking forward to see the return, Guy. How is the quality of the Peddinghaus decals? I got several of theirs for 1/35 figures (Waffen-SS collar tabs and all) and quality was dreadful...unsharp decals and bleading edges. Hope yours are better ^^
Cheers

Thanks guys ! Wout, the Peddinghaus decals look sharp but I can only tell you something more once they're added onto the model. I won't be using all of them decals as they're for the C12 (prototype version), my model will figure as a C14 (C14 version left Germany for duty in occupied regions, the C12 appearantly didn't, and only 12 were built). I keep asking myself why Trumpeter went for the C12 as C14 opens more possibilities for dioramas. And why they didn't add decals to their kit Btw. I'm still thinking if I will go for a field grey scheme or a camouflage pattern (however there's nothing to find about camo color patterns btw.). Best regards ! AG.

I keep asking myself why Trumpeter went for the C12 as C14 opens more possibilities for dioramas. And why they didn't add decals to their kit I blame the R&D department at Trumpeter/Hobbyboss - occasionally they just completely miss the mark: I suspect they do a lot of their research online and sometimes trust information they shouldn't - it would explain why they got the shape of the hull of the NKL-26 aerosan quite wrong. Hobbyboss didn't bother looking at the T-35 in Kubinka and ended up with a hull that's bigger than it should be.

Peddinghaus decals??? Hell, I remember me driving to their shop in Hemer (Ostenschlahstreet) several times and buying the heck out of the shop, mostly Verlinden stuff, Nitto SF3D kits and japanese Magazines like Model Graphix and Hobby Japan. Ah, and WE LOVE FIGURE mags. Good ole days...

Thank you guys ! Since I'm building a C14 version of the WR360, I had to modify the following part which is typical for the C12 version. The C12 kit part as seen on the boxart : The C14 looks different : I started scratching and I think what came out is an improvement even if it isn't a 100% copy of the real thing. This part needs some more finishing, probably tomorrow. Best regards ! AG.

Hi fellas, thanks for visiting my choo choo thread ! I scratched another pressure pot, this one looks much more like the real thing. The brake system needed to be completed too, this was a tricky job. The reference photo of the brake system I used. Best regards ! AG

Great work Guy! Often makes me wonder how kit manufactureres can miss some obvious detail and get others totally wrong. Maybe Trumpy looked at an incomplete one?

Got to chalk up those missing items to just poor/incomplete research...happens when they have to meet a deadline, decide it's not important, or just settle for using a single example as their basis for the kit I suppose. Leaves the door open for you to make it 'yours' though in a big way AG! Nice work. ;0

Thank you T, let's hope it won't be ruined during painting stages, I didn't touch the airbrush since a year.
Thank you Steve, it's a long time ago I saw a diorama with a bunch of US troops, most of the time it's Germans. I will use the locomotive and a flatbed wagon as a back ground, the Panther will be the center piece together with many US soldiers. I will try to convert them and also sculpt them (not the heads of course, they're Hornets and other brands).
Thank you Bill, in fact this is more fun, but I hoped to go straightforward with this one.
Thank you Dierk, maybe you're right and they did their research on a forgotten rustbucket !
Thank you Leon !
Thank you Frank !
