Hey fellas...just chiming in here....basically so you all don't feel I feel off the edge of the planet! I was away for 5 or so days for an AMPS show and just got back last night. I have seen the posts in here, and will troll back through them again this afternoon. I will be getting the official board set up for this group build and make a post hopefully covering the scope correctly.
I id play around with some things or some banner art, but this is always open for suggestion. It is time to clean out the car now and straighten all my stuff up, but will be hitting the keys later this afternoon!
If the start date is as early as mid-April, my "little ship" will be a few months late to the party. But we've got 1 year, right?
Indeed John, 1 year on the GB!
Great to see and talk with you at the show! That is the best part...getting together with friends we only talk with online and having a chance to chat in person! I am remembering ETOPS btw!! Nice one...even if the cargo are typically A-souls!
I hope not too much, it already cost me a lung or a kidney I do admit though...my fingers are 'itchy' to start LOL
Martin had asked for an April 15th start date, so you won't have to wait long to start scratching that itch!
That sounds good to me. My current plan is to have the 251 done by by the end of next week (well, that's the plan at least, we all know about the best laid plans)Should be fun, some really nice interesting looking builds.
The evacuation of Dunkirk, "the miracle of deliverance" in May, 1940 has always been a fascinating topic for me. I want to build this model into one of "The Little Ships" which were able to reach the shallow water to evacuate French and English soldiers.
I bought this kit back in 1998 (yep, 18 years ago) and got as far as finishing the hull and one section of the superstructure. This was all done when a knew a lot about building RC airplanes from balsa, but not a damned thing about building scale models.
This is her box.
And this is her current, less than seaworthy, condition.
So, would this be acceptable?
expensive tastes filling the bottom of that boat with caviar John..... LOL
