Hi folks, thanks for the wishes, modelling time should be ok...bit more limited perhaps, but since I work shifts, I manage to have some time during the day...certainly in the future when mom and son are doing a nap
Guy, I bought it straight from the company which produces it in the US. I bought the handle as well. Not too expensive and I think I got it within two weeks or so.
Dierk, well, ok, blingmeister is good . And dead right about the reinforced shelf...still planning her on a base with water and a plastic cover so I guess that will weigh a lot. Thinking about it, having a custom made base with these dimensions would cost me a ton as well
T, thanks a lot dude! Bob, now that's an idea...saves me a lot of work
panzerjager: glad you like her mate, thanks. And indeed Musashi (you were right with the spelling part LOL) was discovered last year near the Phillipines. So that means that both ships' resting places are known. Great photos of Musashi indeed btw. Thanks for reminding me!
Terry, thanks a lot chap
Well, I painted the rear deck with Tamiya Kure Grey prior to fitting the flight deck, but I haven't taken any photos just yet.
Last couple of days I worked on the flight deck. I removed the moulded on details and glued on the etch parts. Also, I scratched a bottom piece and supports for the protruding armoured AA gun support, since the Tamiya part was open on the underside. Just need to add a splash to the underside and then the flight deck can be glued in place.
