If you swing through Colorado during your "Shoe Trek", send me a PM. there's no substitute for real wood and the variable effect which can be achieved with it. Thanks John. We are just doing 4 days LA and 4 days Vegas then to Europe and New York and San Fran on the way home. I have been here about a dozen times but never got to Colorado yet ...One day.

Thanks very much guys.
Frank the figure is from Tin Tin. One of a pair of twin detectives. I think they are known by two different names Thompson and also a Belgium surname. They look like English gentlemen. About 1/20 scale.

Oh man, how silly I am... TIM & STRUPPI, surly it is Tin Tin! In German, the twins are Schmidt and Schmidt (when I remember correct). The figure looks like a collectors item!

Finally finished my fence. Somehow I ended up 4 or 5 palings short and had to paint up some more. Now working on some figures and about to lay some asphalt.

That's really looking great Peter! Asphalt looks spot on! What is the product/technique? Thanks Dierk. Product is Vallejo Black Lava. Excellent for asphalt from about 1/6 scale up to 1/24. I have used it many times now for road surfaces. Water based and dries quickly. I usually paint it with a thinned out grey acrylic. Spreads nicely but a bit tricky getting it to sit nicely around the grate and curb edges - hence the toothpick.

I am using a Tin Tin figure as my main character. I started with an original figure, the guy on the left and made a few modifications and now have Punk Tin Tin. I am also pleased to advise that my peeing dog has arrived from China.

Hi Peter, sorry I missed the start of this but the house move got in the way.
Yet again another great idea brilliantly executed, the fence is so realistic, the asphalt looks amazing, the punk Tin tin nuts and as for the dog....
Really looking forward to seeing this come together!!!!
Take care.

Thank you Andy Nicolae and Leon for your kind words.
Andrew I am pleased that my odd sense of humour appeals to you. I have a little treat for you at the end of this. Being English you may enjoy it. Not so long to wait as I am nearing the end.

Such a cool project. That little dog is awesome. where did you get it? Thanks. I brought the dog on ebay. Also available on Aliexpress. There was 6 or 8 different breeds of dogs available. I brought this one as he looked the most realistic. I think scale wise they would be about 1/18.
