Thanks, guys. Got some more primer down today, hope to get some time tomorrow to finish up the tie-downs and priming. I'm ready for this thing to stop dragging and get to the best part - weathering - even though there isn't a whole lot to be done with this one.

Things are finally moving along with the Stryker. All of the tie-downs and scratchbuilding is finished and I've started getting the first layers of paint down. Colors are a base of NATO Green with some variation done with RAF Interior Gray Green, both by Mr. Paint. I also plan on adding some brown tones into the mix though that will mostly be on the undersides.

The intermediate stage of patchy painting like that always looks so weird...but so good when you pull off tying it all together.

Thanks for the comments, guys! The Stryker is really coming along now. The top layer of paint has really tied it all together and the webbing has added a lot of character, IMO. Still a few details to add, as well as decals, before weathering can begin.

Thanks again for all the comments guys. It's motivating to have you all along for the ride! Things are really starting to move quickly with her now. The kit comes with vinyl tires and I really planned to replace them with resin, but the company I tried to order them from never responded to me. I hate anything vinyl on a build, but I decided to make the best of the situation. I think they turned out pretty well. The tires were painted with Mr. Paint Tire Rubber, followed by a wash with AK Interactive's Light Dust Deposits. The wash was then rubbed off on the high spots. The test fitting showed no issues, though the clean vehicle looked odd with the dirty wheels. I've gone a little further and have most of the hull dusted, though I'll save those photos until I've finished. All of the decals have been added, and if there's been a bad part of this build, it's definitely the decals. They're terrible. They don't conform to any surface, even with multiple applications of Solvaset. They work for this build since there are only a few, but for any future AFV Club kit I build, I'll be finding aftermarket decals.

Paintjob looks great! Sorry to hear about the recalcitrant decals. Maybe AFV Club has got some secret deals going on with AM decal and track manufacturers?

If Solvaset can't touch them, then nothing can. Wheels look good!

Result! Being a mucky kind of guy, I'd have liked to have seen more dirt in the wheel wells - especially the front left looks very clean. Still: great model!

Nice finish on the Stryker! I don't know much about this vehicle, are the two different wheel hubs/types significant? The different arrangements on either side caught my attention and curiosity!

Honestly, I would have liked to dirty it up a bit more, but this Stryker is the one that I built, and I was going for as much of an identical finish as I could get. It was pretty clean in my references, so that's how I left it.

Nice finish on the Stryker! I don't know much about this vehicle, are the two different wheel hubs/types significant? The different arrangements on either side caught my attention and curiosity! I'm not sure of the significance of the differences, I just messed up when I was building them. I figured the extra piece that is on four of the wheels was on all of them, so I started attaching them. Then I looked at my reference photos and noticed that the extra piece wasn't really on any of them. With the Tamiya Extra Thin already set, I didn't want to pull the pieces off and then have to figure out how to fix the marred area amongst all the detail. So I decided to put the four on randomly just to break it up.

I know that feeling all too well...but chalk it up to 'now you know' (and so do I, have to file that away and remember it if I ever build one!) but that not everyone else will, and if anything, it adds character to it and makes it different!
