Moderators if I'm in the wrong spot, please move . My current build is the good ole' Monogram 1/32nd M4A1 Sherman Screamin' Mimi. Its sort of a kit bash with the M4 Sherman Hedgehog. I was fortunate enough to find a very good build log of this particular kit on the Military Modeler MMagazine website. I'm currently stalled in construction right now, waiting on some Evergreen plastic and small brass photo etch screen. Have searched out the web looking for some close up pics of this particular variant. Slim pickings I'm afraid or am i looking in the wrong spot? My question to you fellow model builders and Shermanholics; Any and all suitable reference suggestions on the web or in book form would be greatly appreciated? I currently have Sherman in Action, Sherman at war, a couple of Steve Zaloga books on building Sherman Models. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I using this project as test on some scratch building. Kindest Regards; Harold Aka13Bravo

Are you putting the rocket launcher on the Hedgehog? or building the M4a1 version right out of the box? The Screamin' Mimi was my second build after getting back into the hobby a couple of years ago... brought back a lot of memories, as that was the first armor kit I built in jr. high... around 1976, if I remember correctly. As for photos, the only ones I have found are of the welded hull Shermans with the launcher.

Charlie; I probably won't put the calliope launcher on this kit. Your right, it does bring back a lot of memories. I built this kit way back in 1977 along with the Hedgehog. I even tried to kitbash the Hedgehog kit with an Italeri/Testors M4a1 Sherman. I recall using the bogie assemblies. I decided to purchase the book 'Son of Sherman' series Vol. 1. Its a little steep in price but I think its worth it. How is your Tamiya Easy Eight coming along? Iwill try post some pics of my M4A1 build soon. Thanks for your post; Kindest regards; Harold

Thanks for your post; Kindest regards; Harold I never built the Hedgehog because the store I bought my models from never had it. Had the Screamin' Mimi, the StuGs, the Wirbelwind, the M48 Patton, the Afrika Korp 8 wheeled vehicle (can't remember the number right now), etc. I built all they had. If I could get my hands on a Hedgehog, I would snap that up chop-chop. Funny thing is, I still have the How to Build Dioramas tip sheet that was provided in the monogram kits. Man, that thing is 40ish years old and still in good condition. The Easy 8 is coming along... should have an update on my build thread this weekend. And I would like to see some pics of the M4A1.

I saw your youtube video with the Shepherd Paine Diorama sheet. I ordered the Hedgehog off of Ebay at a ridiculous price. The box was in terrible shape but everything was there except that wonderful dio sheet. I was really hoping it would be in there. Back in the day we had a toy store that had one of the best model selections you could dream of. Most of it was Armored models! They had Tamiya, Monogram, Revell, Testors, Airfix, you name it, they had it; plus a large selection of Pactra and Testors paints. Plus we had 3 very well stocked hobby stores in our area. Ahh the good old days. Should be posting those pics sometime this weekend, got to make some more progress on this kit first. Kindest Regards; Harold
