fist drill your holes, then your rivets, then trim, you don't have to use nail clippers, then heat..

Thats the way I have to do it as sticking individual heads on in braille scale is nye on impossible.
Looks real sweet under paint mate!!

Just a brief note (I'm a bit pushed for time just now) but I've done something similar in the past to manufacture rivets before you actually need them - I did it years ago (or rather, over-did it) and still have some left somewhere...
Basically, you just need to present the end of a length of plastic rod to a radiant heat source (e.g. bar-type electric fire, the ring on the top of an electric cooker, the side of a soldering iron - I've used all of these) until it starts to melt and roll back on itself to form a mushroom-headed rivet. Cut it off leaving a short length of rod to insert into your pre-drilled hole, and repeat ad infinitum, or at least until your fingertips get too hot. As I recall I used to hold the rod as close to the hot end as I could stand and twirl it between my fingers as that seemed to help the blobby end form more symmetrically. It might be more finger-friendly to hold the rod in a pin vise; You may wish to pop individual rivets into one of these and file the head down if you want them flattened rather than domed. The biggest bit of rod I used was a bit of fairly thick round sprue, but it wasn't for a rivet, it was to make a drum for a musician conversion when the Games Workshop Skeleton Army box came out (back in the early '80's?), I think I made his drumsticks the same way as rivets but with longer stems and more rounded ends.
Regards,
M
