Greetings all;
Been working on this for awhile. It's coming along slowly as real life has a tendency to take over and reduce my time at the bench!
Take a look;
This is the rear of the lower hull. The screen in back is scratch built. The air cleaners and exhaust came from the spares box. I added a wire handle to the engine doors and made weld seams for rear towing hooks.
Sanded down handles and replaced them with brass wire. Added some small chain to fuel cap covers. Put photo etch brass screen on air intake covers.
Hatches had molded on handles removed with wire added, as well as some styrene closure tabs.
Bogie assemblies completely assembled. Some minor tweaking. Return rollers had some minor detail work. Decided to keep the early VVSS suspension. Assemblies were painted in Tamiya TS28 Olive Drab. Rubber portions were finished with the AK interactive Tire and wheel paint set Satin Black/ mixed with Tire gray.
The turret. Ahh the turret. I switched out the main gun assembly and shield with one found on the Monogram Hedgehog kit. Added lifting hooks, (it may not show in this pic). Also added was a sight vain, and wire handle on commander's cupola. Lots of filling with putty here. The barrel was sanded and primed. I hate those split barrels. I turned it on my dremel for a more smooth finish. Turret and gun shield were coated with Mr. Surfacer 500 to give a rough cast effect. I added some casting marks and numbers from Archer after.
Decided to give this a shot. Have seen some wonderful results from other model builder's.
Here is a view of partially assembled and painted vehicle I coated it with Mr Surfacer 500 prior to painting with Tamiya TS28 Olive Drab. I had some fit issues mating the upper to the lower hul. Lots of sanding and filling with Tamiya gray putty on the Transmission cover.
Top of turret view. Note casting numbers.
More to follow soon. Just to let you know, I currently don't own an airbrush and am in process of getting one soon, but real life situations have a tendency to get in the way. More to follow right directly! Thanks for checking it out!
Kindest Regards
