Hi.
From what I understand filters are thinner then washes. But when you're buying prepared streaking effects where do they land on the consistency spectrum? Somewhere between a wash and filter, or is it essentially a re-branded wash?
Thanks for your time.

From experience I would tend to say that the grimy stuff for streaking effects has a higher density of pigments than washes - the other end of the spectrum from filters if you will.

The streaking effect are slightly thicker in consistency but essentially still washes. Filters are thinned down washes. I used to use the streaking grime for all three and simply add thinner to make what I wanted. I would also use the washes for streaks by not mixing them and taking the "sludge" from the bottom or the top of the cap.
