That is truly awesome. I do have one question though and please tell me if I'm wrong because I really don't know, but shouldn't the call numbers "156" on the side of the turret be under the white wash?

I do have one question though and please tell me if I'm wrong because I really don't know, but shouldn't the call numbers "156" on the side of the turret be under the white wash? Thanks. Actually on the numbers no. There has been a lot of research done on LSSAH at Kharkov and it has been determined that the white wash was carefully applied right up to the edge of the numbers, crosses and unit symbol. The turret numbers are only the white outlines, the grey inside is the tank grey showing through. If you look at the rear of the turret, that is how the markings looked before whitewash - on these Pz IIIs, the rear bins were not repainted. Hope this answers your question.

Moar progress on the Mud. My technique for this mud is quick n easy and ridiculously simpleYou just need pigments, fixer, X-22 and 90% isopropyl. I just add dark earth pigment with #3 brush dipped in pigment fixer, and dab it on the hull, then take the same brush and go back into the pigment and dab again on the hull, repeat until the sheen from the fixer is gone and move on to the next area. When dry, I go over with X-22 diluted 50/50 with 90% isopropyl alcohol in areas I want to appear wet. Repeat as desired. More applications = more sheen = wetter mud. That is it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tvhD7LP60w

I can't decide if this build is inspiring or discouraging. Half of me wants to crack into a new kit right now, but the other half knows I'll never match this level of work and suggests I have a beer instead.

Jeff, have a beer and then crack into a kit! You might be surprised what turns out.

Drink the beer and go for it. I have not really done anything technical, just plodding away at it, bit by bit. Did some more work on the tarp.

Looking good there! What did you use for the snow mate? Cheers Snow is a mix of Tamiya X-22 and methyl methacrylate polymer. Also know as Acrylic powder. It is used in Dental offices and nail salons.
