Thanks fellas. Not much work done yesterday but hoping to get more done today and get her finished this week...I hope. Besides needing to get some shelf queens finished, John's muddy Pz III gave me some inspiration to finally get this one muddied up and finished. Did some tweaking of the base to set the tank on a slight angle and not sit so flat on the ground. Once there is some more progress I'll post some pics.

Loving the job you've done on the Tiger Rob!! It looks very nicely done as always.
That said I've got to question the authenticity of the pink mud!! 🤓😉
Seriously though it's very good.
Are you going to having any figures/crew looking on in frustration at the situation?
All the best.

You are gonna have a bear of the time getting that thing unstuck! I also think you need more splatter on the angles sections just above the fenders. Does that make sense?

Thanks fellas. Sorry for not replying sooner, had a somewhat busy two days with something unexpected so not much time for the bench etc. Andrew not sure about figs, wanting to keep her simple. Thinking she was too stuck to pull out so they left her in place. John, yeah some areas will get a bit more splash or mud buildup.

Thanks Leon. Wes, I just posted a SBS on the Vallejo facebook page. www.facebook.com/vallejocolors/Base is just about finished and some details for the BergeTiger still to be done before calling this one finished.

Time to play "devil's advocate", just for fun. Two things stick out to me - and this is just opinion - about the dirt base. First (area 1), the dirt on the outside edges looks too dry to have that kind of sloppy, wet mud so close. The other area (#2) at the rear of the vehicle doesn't look right. Granted, there'd be a churning effect around the tracks, but as the tank bottomed out the hull would actually press the mud flat as it moved forward, wouldn't it? Just some food for thought....

Good eye. The pics were taken right after applying the mud, grass and setting the model in place so everything was still wet and fresh. Now that it's all dry and cured I can start tweaking....such as the 'dry' earth area. I did think about that with the rear area and yes it would be flattened. My thought and from memory of my vehicle being stuck in three feet of mud, is that in attempting to get out of the muck the tracks would have thrown up mud. I'll have to think about that area and see if I redo it or leave it as is. Pressed for time and needing to get this done and out of the way or it may end up sitting on the shelf until I can get back to it in the Fall or winter.

As for the dry area, it is very much possible. The surface could be dry, a few inches or deeper, and below the surface still waterlogged. I once drove a vehicle over what appeared to be 'dry', but the weight of the vehicle and wet earth below the surface stopped me in my tracks.... With this, and most groundwork I do, I look at ref pics and my memory of 8 years military and all the crap I've seen lolol.

Thanks guys. Just have to finish off the fig by adding dirt and mud to his boots etc. I've also added some boot prints on the Bergetiger.
