Dierk- Thank you my good man
Joel- Thank you for the input. Here is the funny HA HA, I do believe that the muffler pipes don't bend to go into the engine compartment, they have a pipe running atop, that then has a single pipe running in.

PJ, my reference is the CMK PzIII engine kit which shows the pipes making a 90 degree bend over the plate that the mufflers are mounted to. But, since that is hidden by the overhang of the top hull, it is no big deal. Talk more soon, Joel.

Hi PJ
VERY sorry for being so far behind on this, very little time to check in recently.
I've got to say though it is coming on an absolute treat and that is some seriously cracking work. A true masterpiece in the making!!!
By the way have you managed to transition to my scaling formula or are you still persevering with your tried and tested method? 😋
All the best.
Andrew

Joel, Thank you for the input again. I'm gonna do a wee bit more research...before i "open mouth and insert foot" any further...LOL
Andrew, Nice to hear from you.... Thank you for the really kind post. The sad news is, you can't teach old Firefighters new tricks... I am still using my old guy formula..LOL

This should help you out PJ, while it shows the hull of a StuG F/8 under construction, it's the same hull and engine/exhaust arrangement. The pipes do curve into the engine compartment but they don't pass through the hull plate in the process of doing that. The Pz III hull had an overhang at the rear to allow for this including a screened intake for airflow management. HTH!

Excellent progress so far, superb details. Hey PJ, how much is this beast beginning to weigh?
Cheers, Ski.

Steve,
Thanks for the compliment....... As to the weight, she's getting up there, and I haven't really started on the lower chassis. The bib thing is gonna be the height. With the Hauptman in the cupola, it's gonna be tall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PJ2

Glad the pics are of use! I had a feeling you might say that given the back-and-forth already on the earlier posts!

Well Gents, I spent a lil time today just cleaning the overall upper superstructure. The much needed, much hated aspect of all scratch builds....

Thanks Leon....... There is "trouble" in Panzer III land though............... Despite my "best" efforts to keep the fenders, (which were created mostly from sheet plastic), from warping, guess what....they warped. Well, the good news is that the damage is on the outer edges at the rear, which lends itself nicely to "battle" damage........ we shall seeeeeeeeeeeeee

The "3" got jealous of all the time you were spending on the Gatling Gun! ;<) That's why the fenders warped!

Hi PJ hope all is well.
Like everyone else I've been watching this come along, slowly but surely, and I'm pretty sure that every common and not so common superlative has been used to describe what you've done so far and it's still a long way from being finished.....
You sir are a true artisan!! 👏👏👏👏
All the best.
Andrew
PS I am still a bit disappointed that you're persisting with your long-winded scaling up process rather than transitioning to my Germanically efficient one but you can't argue with the results!!😋
