Doesn't need to be perfect - looks good enough considering it'll be hidden behind the sprocket.

Every little detail, gets you that much closer! Awesome job on the wheel holder! Agreed...on the cover plate! Getting it close for something completely hidden is honestly good enough! Keep banging away on this!

TRM, thank you sir...... It's a funny thing... I've clearly "mellowed" with age. Years ago, I would have chucked the whole final drive housing and started anew.... Now like you guys have pointed out... The=is one just needs to be a little better than close......
Thanks to all for just stopping by.

I noticed, but I don't want get the reputation of being the guy that criticizes everything, but, doesn't show photos of his production.

Well they look okay now! LOL Considering this is the first time I stopped bye in the past 7 hours when you made all of the posts...I was exempt from the criticizing! (((LOL))) not that I would have noticed or said something...figured you would have had a plan as bass-ackwards as it might have been!

My apologies for not spotting the rod you made for your own back with the silencer, or 'muffler' as you ex-colonials so quaintly call it , I was way too busy creating my own FUBAR: hadn't used my bottle of Vallejo Engine Oil for a while, so shook it vigerously...both to the left and the right...found out it's also great for creating splatter effects when the lid isn't screwed on properly...managed to miss the model, but not the radiator, wall, armchair...

Did you snap a picture Dierk? I think some of the fellas are into abstract art my friend! If it makes you feel any better...I am good for pulling off the cap of the normal paint bottles and not seeing the tip of the dropper is stuck inside the cap, filling the airbrush cup...coloring the pants, shading the shoes and leaving a silhouette on the floor where my foot was!

No, 'fraid no pics Todd - too busy trying to de-wreck the living room before my blood would've been added but I did provide an SBS for those inclined to create their own Jackson Pollock I know where I get my artistic bent though: my dad wanted to use liquid shoe polish - you know the kind that comes in a plastic bottle with an applicator sponge. The nozzle was blocked, so in an - ultimately successful - attempt to unblock it he placed it on the floor and applied pressure...by standing on it...

LOL...not a good move Dierk! PJ...fine job on those hinges my friend! Such clean work! Interesting process! I get the stretched part obviously...is the wire serving a purpose other than not allowing the pieces to fling off into the oblivion? I think the big question is, will they function once completed?

Dierk, I haven't stopped laughing. NOT at you my friend, put at the fact I've done exactly the same thing....BUT add the "better" half was there "hen pecking" me to death. I didn't know whether I should: A). Clean up the mess. B). Kill her. And run to Canada. C). Just run BABY RUN......................
Anyway my friend I'm still giggling.....
TRM my good man, the wire served two purposes. A) as you pointed out, keep the little SO and SO's from rolling on to the floor. And B) retain a consistency when I heating the plastic. Otherwise as you no doubt know, you get the tapered/wine bottle affect. As to the "work-a-bility" of the hinge.... No sir I gave that up long ago after my 1/25th scale Lynx: I had the GD idea, "OH all the hatches should work" ARGH
Anywho...... No fun today, Stinking rotten appointments...... AND last night I realized I have to add about 30+ rivets, ( yes my friend in Deutschland RIVETS) to each fender. Which will represent the attachment points for the mud guard on the fenders.

Just a "quickie". Here's the hinge detail, Notex light, and pre rivet layout.........
And YES SPORTS fan's that is a Notex light from the Tasca 1/24th scale PzII....why reinvent the wheel............

I'm glad I brought some amusement to your life, but now it's payback time : I'm assuming that you mean the 'rivets' along the outer edge of the Mudguards? Ermmm, cough, hmmm - if the 'guards are similar to the ones used on the IV you'll find that the 'rivets' are actually domed slotted screws. I only know because one of my first (still unfinished) projects was an Italeri Panzer IV F2 and after I'd added a load of Masterclub rivets I found a better picture that clearly identified them as screws...

LOL...nothing wrong with outsourcing a few parts here and there! Like you said, no reason to reinvent the stuff! Your scratch services are best suited elsewhere my friend!

Too many penguins on the ice floe! I went to hear a motivational speaker, and when some one asked him how to "break the ice", he replied "Heavy Penguins".
