I've noticed that when I use future to top coat my models, that after a day or two if I look closely at the surface I see like.....cracks. No other way to describe it other than it looks like a dried up pond. It is "crackeled " all over it. Does anyone else notice this or have this trouble? You can't feel the cracks and everything like decals and washes aren't affected but I can see them and it drives me nuts. And I can see them without magnification.

No, I have never experienced this although I use Future alot. You failed to note what type of paint you covered with it. Sometimes this can be attributed to the failure of the underlying paint to dry (gas out) completely before the future is applied.

I think Gil might have hit the head of the nail John. In forced crackle, oil based thinners and/or paint under acrylic will create this look easily. Future being acrylic dries much faster than the enamel washes and such. Best to give the a bit more time to completely flash off and cure.

hmmm. I covered Tamiya clear red that I had sprayed on last September and covered it with future on February 10th. That's not long enough?

LOL...well that is a new one then! How old is the future? Probably not an issue, but figured I would ask. Maybe the Future dried too quickly which could cause some shrinkage.

Did this happen to you more than once? You seem to indicate in your post that it is a common occurrence. If so, get a new bottle of Future.
