Bob, the numbers are about 3/8 long! They are the wrong #s anyways. So, what would the right numbers be?

Leon, my friend I offer these words so you don't stress on this build or any other WWII German Armor... You and I know the greatest lie is" consistency in German armor markings".... VERY few outside factory produced markings wee ever the same.... How quickly could it be done, with what materials.... I believe in my heart of hearts, that's how the blue outlined numbers got to be..... The point is don't stress..UNLESS you plan on showing it at a IPMS weenie roast.....

PJ, thank you my friend! Point well taken. I've looked at a number of StuG images and practically none had numbers or any kind of unit markings.I'm just going with the crosses and the number 211.

If I am not mistaken, the blue #s were used on SS Tigers. Can't wait to see the Stug finished, Joel.

Joel, sir you missed the point..... I think they, (the blue outlined numbers), came about because of what was available at the supply depot at the time they were marking and numbering that particular battalion.... And that's just one man's humble opinion after studying German armour for 45 PLUS years..... PJ2
