Thanks Todd! Almost time for some weathering. I do have one question. We were talking about using the oiled earth wash on this. Can i AB it on in thin coats or would it be better to brush on?

You can AB it on...I would probably consider thinning it to a filter consistency and dust a coat on first. You can also built up shadows with this method. I would stick to the brush for pin washes and panel darkening though.

Looking good Leon! Oiled Earth is one of my favourite products! Also great for rubber tyres: paint with Vallejo Dark Rubber, then brush on OE.

I've never tried it, but I've read that you can tape the decals in a window to expose them to the sun for a few days. The sunlight is supposed to bleach the yellowed areas white again. If all else fails, just ask the folks here. I'm willing to bet someone has some spares they'll give you.

Hi Leon, if it's slightly yellow I wouldn't worry too much I think. When you weather it the color hue chances anyway. Now if it were plain yellow that would be something else Cheers

Give the decals a try in the water first. I also had old yellow decals in the past several times myself, but as soon as they got in touch with water, the yellow was washed away and they appeared like new.
Also the stencil color of Wehrmacht was dirty off-white (RAL9002) and, like mentioned above, the weathering will do its part as well.

Let me know if it does not work out for you...I probably have a sheet or two kicking around with crosses on them that you are welcome to my friend! ...not sure what the numbers are, but there are ways around that too!

as an FYI I tried the sunbleaching thing with this set..... might as well have wiped my ass with them for the good it did.... to be fair I only left them there for 2 days in direct sunlight but I saw zero difference. I coated them with Microscale decal fixer and Im gonna give em a shot over a good clear coat and we shall see....

Thanks for sharing with me Brian! Looks like i'll have to wait a few days for any sun.Think i'll try bleaching one and trying one in water to see if there's any change. Hope your decals work out.

Well guys the decals are a no go! I tried soaking two of them and they dissintigrated when i went to remove them from the backing. If anyone has any crosses or numbers they want to sell or donate they would be much appreciated.

How large are the numbers? I'm sure I've got something that'll work. They may not be the exact same numbers, but they should work.

Bob, the numbers are about 3/8 long! They are the wrong #s anyways.
