This is a DML PzKpfw III G built to represent one of the first tanks in country from Panzer Regiment 5. This would be the original "Deutsches Afrikakorps" Paint is a mix of Tamiya replicating RAL 8000 over the base of Panzer Gray. I used Floquil enamel Dark Lark Gray as the base. That is my favorite Panzer Gray if chipping and extreme weathering will take place. I tried to represent the look of hastily applied tropical colors over the continental base color. The supply of RAL 8000 was very limited at first. In fact, the patterns were sprayed quite haphazardly just to get some form of camouflage on. Perusing Bernd Hartmann's books on Panzer Regiment 5, "Panzers in the Sand", Volumes 1 and 2 , gave me all the necessary photos to replicate the details unique to these panzers. G
