Since the beginning of this year I have run into a problem. I have started 4 different kits (3 Armor, 1 Aircraft), and what happens is; I will get to 1/2 to 3/4 finished and I will run into a problem, struggle with the problem, get frustrated, and, box the kit up so I don't "screw up" what I have accomplished. Then, I grab another kit, and run into the same problem. So what I am wondering is... Do any of you have the same problem, and if you did, what did you do about it? Thanks for any advice or even commiseration, Joel.

Joel,i think we've all had that problem! I just put it on the shelf for a day or two and bring it back down and try to solve the problem.

It depends on what the problem is that you're running into...is it the same problem on different kits or different problems on different kits?

I'm just gonna echo what others have said. I usually have 4-5 "builds" going at the same time, JUST for that particular reason.... Problems come up in every build, whether snap-tite or 100% scratch-build. Problems arise, I put the kit aside, ponder on it awhile, while working on a different build.
HOPE that helps PJ2

I have three Sheridans in one stage or another, and one I finally quit fixing. The last one is a famous turd. About once a year I take them out of the plastic containers and do some work on them till I get mad. I have had a want foe an old bi-wing Helldiver for ever and two days. I only know of one kit, and believe it or not I've been working with that turd for over fifteen years off and on. I finally gave up and threw it in the trash! Have an almost continuous battle with a Type 7 U-Boat in 1/72 scale. I was good to go till I saw some fantastic builds. I've never been able to get the hull haves glued together due to other things not being right.
Perhaps buys less kits and working a little harder might be a better idea gary

Honest. Choose your least favorite and use it as the plow to shove your way through your problem. The kit will turn out badly. But that's the idea. You will learn from the things which go wrong. Post the results here in the group and get advice about how to correct or do differently on the next try.
All sorts of things go wrong when building models. Learn. Adapt. Improve. A year from now you will look back and laugh at the things which used to cause you to stop working on a project.
I always advise this: The first dozen will suck. The thirteenth will be fabulous!

I have to agree with all of the advice given so far. We all do have, or have had, these issues. Picking one to start with and pushing yourself to complete it will help. The results might not be exactly what you were hoping for, but the experiences along he way help pave the way for the next...and so forth and so forth. Knowing what might be stumping you, as Bill mentioned above, goes a long way to possibly getting some help form the family here. Best of luck!!

Ditto all said so far. This is one of my favorite parts of the build process though. I am not saying I want a problem but when I run into one I love figuring them out and making it work.

I have sworn off building auto for over a year now. Every freaking paint job on the last three got something in, on, or went wrong in some way. Then, I had one '32 Ford 85% finished and the front axle broke.
Cue the soup Nazi, "No cars for me."
I put all the cars on hold for a bit while I evaluate what happened with the paint.
I have on Chicago PD '49 Ford almost complete. I might just finish that next weekend. Maybe.............
