The shire council has installed many wooden posts on the surrounding land at either side of the bridge.

Thanks Leon. _______________ Added dead wood debris, and lots of mulch which has been deposited all around the place by the shire council...a recent upgrade to the riverbank areas. You can see where I have been experimenting with the grass.

Yet again great work!!
I showed Junior the pics of your work and it's fair to say he was impressed. He asked me if you were proud of your work. I said I didn't know but said I would be if I was you.
Do you have a deadline for this project or at least an idea of when to want it finished by?

It is as if a Greater Hand is involved. No deadline. The curator is impatient and tries to create deadlines. Then I remind him that I am a volunteer, not a paid contractor. The museum president does not care how long it takes as long as it works and looks good.

This is truly amazing work! The different shades of grass and the burnt wood look great. Thanks Leon for your kind words. __________________________ Yes, the grass was mixed with light (2 mm) and dark (4 mm) green grass. Both are almost impossible to mix evenly, electrostatic charge seems to attract equally charged units, plus the shorter grass (light green) fall through the sieve earlier. The random bunching of two colours gives it a more natural look. I have on two locations purposely given only the light green covering. One is for a walking track. Anyway, Fred F. went and bought himself a Whopper lawnmower. Now he can cut twice as much in half the time. The truth is, he wants to spend more time at the bowling club.

It has come to my attention that we have not seen, for a while, what the whole display looks like. It is very difficult to capture the whole display, I have to cram myself into a corner, and take the shot from above my head. So there are other photos of looking across the river.

Went back to finish the Buoy Tender so I can complete this mini-diorama scene. I learnt something about model painting from painting this boat. All you really need to buy, with enamel paints, are those that come with a matt finish. They can later be covered in a satin or gloss finish. With the gloss, it looks much smoother, as you can see by the boat.

The boat isn't looking too bad either!!

Some of the Buoy Tender crew need to go ashore to attach the old buoy to the crane. To do this they used a rubber dinghy with an outboard motor. Used scrap dowels, MDF board, Masonite, matchsticks, ice-cream stick, and a paper clip.

Thank you Leon and adt70hk for your kind comments. It's nice to get them. ____________________________ Spent hours cutting broken cork pieces (from sanding blocks) to the sizes used for riprap along the river bank. It worked out best by adding a piece at a time. It took a few hours (not as long as I thought). Used a ceramic dish for the glue. Dipped the piece of cork into it as if eating with chop-sticks.

If this diorama gets any better than it is, the Shire will have to donate it to the National Museum!

Thank you moramarth for your like, and joelsmith and oldguy5 for your compliments. __________________________________ I needed something in the water within the large empty space of the front left. It will need to be small (not too obvious). So I have decided to have a recreational fishing boat heading for the boat ramp and car park. Could not find any to my liking in 1/72, or OO gauge. so I had to make my own. Actually, this boat turned out surprisingly easy. It is Masonite, and once the basic shape is glued together there is enough meat to carve with a craft knife the desired shape. Other bits made from scrap dowels, paddle pop stick and paper clip.
