I'm in! Just ordered the Hobbyboss version to do a rancid-looking soviet captured one.

I managed to get the front cowl mounted on the Dremel and was able to reshape the kit parts to approximate the curve on the 1:1. It’s a bit bulbous so I may take a bit more off. We’ll see. Bought a resin “big tail” ages ago, no clue who makes it. I swapped the kit rudder since it had a thinner trailing edge The MDC resin wheel well conversion is fiddly to say the least but once it all together and squeezed in it looks like a 190 D now. The resin center piece for the lower wing was a HUGE PITA. Very thin and cracked several times. Smooth crack that glued up and are in visible but not enough improved detail to go through that on the next one. The cockpit has great detail and just drops in with any adjustment to kit or resin parts. I didn’t take a pic before I put it in, sorry. The gun cowl is another story. Rough casting that will lose detail to fix, a chunk missing and it just doesn’t fill. That untrimmed as you see it. i7.photobucket.com/albums/y269/wing_nut_5o/190D-9/CowlSize.jpg

Man I love the Fw190 D series. Beautiful aircraft and I'm liking the work that you're putting into this one.
BTW...I dunno if there's anybody else that makes it but I do know that AML and Alley Cat offer the Ta-152 tail conversion sets.

Thanks T. "plight"... perfect Thanks Joe. The D-9 may be my fav fighter and definitely in top 5 all time aircraft.. I'll look into those tails.

No, it’s going to be Yellow 14 flown by Marseille. The back story for the “what if” is that in WWI, when the sniper shoots Montgomery he does not survive so he is not there to aid the allies in turning the tide of the N. African campaign. This sees that going on long enough for the D-9 to be delivered to N. Africa. And when Marseille has engine trouble in his 190G and bales out he is not hit by the tail and survives the jump.

Well just CRAP. So I buy some Mr. Paint to try. Now I gotta find shelf space for the whole freakin’ line. Awesome right outta the bottle. Black base sweet. I even like the sheen. And expensive proper alignment jigs... Really? No!

Wow, that is looking good indeed mate, like it a lot. And yeah, Peddinghaus decals suck big time. I ordered sheets of Waffen-SS decals for 1/35 figures and quality was just awful, unuseable.
Keep the great work coming chap!
Cheers

Wow!! It sure is different seeing a D-9 painted up in these colors. I think it's growing on me though. Very nice work so far!!
