well since I've done with 2 kits MATV Kinetic and the Huracan, with 2 kits that are not posted as I did promise myself not to buy or open a new kit. but there are is always an exception to the rule, I did plan and aim to work on my pending builds which is already a pile, scattered around the house. My reason is supporting our LHS and its event, its not about how you spend. paid extra for the kit instead of buying it online for cheaper price... yes I also buy online when needed. but nothing more fulfilling and enjoying our hobby when you meet old and new friends at the shop, spending an hour or two of your time. below is my participation for the local Mitsubishi Fest due in August or October, this event is all 1:1 car show and one of organizer of the show is also a modeler and manage to squeeze in a space of scale models. The Body Shell Not much of an issue of the body except for the mold lines that need to be sand and fill. Cheers!!!

its sure does the auto modeling community is growing bigger than the military modeling here... due to the events of the car clubs and shows.

You would think that with the proliferation of cars and trucks all over the world that auto modeling would be big everywhere...certainly not in my neck of the woods, though!

Dupes, my apologies for the misunderstanding... when I mean here, its from my country, there are much more auto modelers than military modelers.

I was thinking of converting the old MPC "Hogan's Heroes" 1/24/5th jeep into a "Classic" Jeepney with all the bells an dangly things that I saw in the PI when my dad was stationed at Clark AFB in the early 60's.

Down here in South Texas there seems to be an interest in auto modeling so you can usually catch a small scale model contest amongst a car show here and there. Don't get me wrong, I'm as interested in military modeling as most anybody here, but it seems that's the only way to get the locals interested in scale modeling is with the Autos. Sometimes I wished I lived in a town that was interested in military modeling as much as I am. I'd have the best of both worlds.

Really that would take a lot of work, but there is one modeler here converted the 1/24 Italeri Jeep to a Classic Jeepney... we use to be in clark when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's when the US still manage Clark and Subic, lot of PX goods, there is also a HobbyShop inside the base, sometime when got lucky a tank is park on one of the PX stores... those were the good old days

Same here, and I started with armor and still working on some metals, yes most locals here works their interest in auto scene since most events are influence by car clubs, the only way people are aware of the military history is thru museums and field trips to historic places. cheers!!

Looks pretty dang good so far ER!!! The powertrain components are clean....perhaps a little too clean but still looks great!!! A very light wash would make some shadows and really bring out all the details. Thinned down Tamiya Smoke works fantastic for the effect.
