Well, you had an easy solution there, open up the back and cut through the rear torsion bars. Add chrome "Spinner" hubcaps to the wheels, and when you repaint go for a high-gloss metallic Olive not-so-Drab. Ta-Dah! M60A3 Low Rider! M

Thanks Joel! Now back to the small plastic type tanks for a couple weeks! M...LOL That would be different! I did suggest cutting the engine deck open and popping some concrete in there to level things off...and then Vin Diesel to see if he needed to borrow it for the next Fast N Furious!

Well, now that some of the smoke from all the running around has begun to clear some, it is time to update this thread a little! M60A3 - Epsom, New Hampshire, is done! Three days before leaving on my Chilean adventure, myself and one other member of USABOT headed up North to bang out some painting as the weather had broken and the time was right! In about 5 hours, we top-coated the entire tank and get it ready for markings! During the week away, and just before Memorial Day ( here in the states), Abrams Co. finished all the markings and placed our banner! A job well done for No. 7!! Since then, USABOT landed a collaboration with the Collings Foundations located in Stow, MA. This is a museum dedicated to keeping the history alive! Among operating a number of working aircraft including a B-17, B24, P-51, F-4 and more, they have a static location where there is a packed museum of civilian and military vehicles and planes. Recently they broke ground on a new building to house a large collection of tanks and other items they purchased from the Littlefield collection in California a few years back. USABOT's job, to assist the Collings Foundation in facially restoring many of the pieces to be added to the exhibit. First on the list, were two tanks that we banged out yesterday...a M48A3 and a M1A1 Abrams. The M48 used to stand post to the entrance to Ft. Knox...the original home of armor! The M1A1 is on loan to the museum and served in Afghanistan until an IED exploded killing the TC. This is an extra special piece given its history and the fact that the family and crew of the fallen will be attending the opening services as will be the tank crew that was behind the tank when the IED went off. Next up on the list in 2 weeks...a M-41 Walker Bulldog and M-7 Priest! This is shaping up to being very busy summer for USABOT...but we are going to have fun working our a$$es off!! I tossed in a few other pics of some stuff sitting around. We were told to "walk around and check sh*t out"...so we started! LOL I will have a full briefing of the next round in a couple weeks!!

With any luck, Anthony, the exhibit will be open by July 1st. The Collings Foundation website shows times they are open including the schedule for their reenactment weekend in October...something that should not be missed! Maybe we can figure out how to get everyone together for that day!
