Thanks for the interest Leon. There is not a lot of interest in this sort of thing unless it is involved in some kind of diorama. The kit is going together well so far, but I am seeing some details that have been left out. I am trying to decide if I want to add them.

Oooooh, nifty!
I don't think you HAVE to go full-blown dio if you do up a decent base with a fig or two for scale.

Thanks!

Looking forward to seeing you bring this one to life Terry. I had a blast several years back when I did the BR52.

The dinosaurs...hahahahha.
Of course, I'm working on a Tamiya Stegosaurus for my son right now, so you aren't very far off!

At shows I make it a point to look at the "Everything Else" category. You'll normally find some of the most interesting builds in the show there.
I've seen other peoples builds of this kit. There's a lot of potential depending on how far you want to take it. I know you'll do a bang-up job on it.

Yes there are a lot of details that can be added. I am already working through some of them like air lines for the air brakes.

Ok I have added some suspension parts and the first round of paint. This process of adding parts and paint will happen several times due to the layers of parts involved.

Dang. She's a big one. Of course, once you build this, you're going to need to start working on everything that gets dragged behind it...

Trumpeter makes SO much of it you wouldn't have a problem making a 20+ car train. Dragon has some things as well, but I don't know if their cars (and track) match Trumpeter's as far as wheel width.

You should be ok, I combined a Trumpeter BR52 with a Dragon flatcar when I did mine and didn't have any major issues. The real trick comes in laying out the track/rails but that shouldn't be too big of a problem. It's all 1/35 and to-scale accurate within a mm or so, but never hurts to double-check with the specific kits you're using.
