Finally PB has pulled the plug on me as well - like Wouter I'm downloading my pics from the gits, followed by deleting them. Downlading the albums from PB is not very userfriendly, frequently failing - probably in the hope you'll give up eventually, which I won't!
As and when I get round to resurrecting the threads with my shelf queens I'll replace the PB icon with the relevant pics - don't really feature the additional work, but hey-ho...

Well, luckily I never used PB as storage, just for sharing on fora. So sadly that means all my old threads are useless now (except for another fora where I started my career, and which has an own photo gallery system). Won't take the effort to replace the 2500 photos. Just deleted my account. Wondering how long they will last from now on...

Note to self - dont quote anyone. I noticed that too, wonder what's causing it? I don't use PB so this is a test to see if it affects everyone or just those with PB accounts. EDIT: It does affect my quotes too so it must be a Proboards account setting that is somehow referring back to Photobucket...but why that is can only be answered by the admins i think!  |

I read that Face Book or UTUBE bought PB and they're after the space or band width what ever you call it and don't really care if people do leave and those that do pay the $400 it's almost pure profit for them.
They also said they would honor the paid customers until their subscriptions ran out,mine runs out in October.

Folks, this will be a bit of a bumpy road for all since there is quite a lot of content here on the forum and most of that is probably PB supported...or was anyway! I will send out a mass forum message soon...but it will cover a few options, good, bad or otherwise including that no one should feel compelled to go back through and upload images to outdated threads unless they want to spend the time. With any luck, most of you hopefully have saved many of the images you had stored on PB over the years and can still access them for personal use...or if you feel inclined to respond to the confused postings of anyone looking back on past threads saying "I don't see the pics" by posting a couple here and there. As is the case for many of us...especially people who have been on the new/old MSC and consistently posted progress to you builds.

Just deleted one of my accounts and the funny thing is it said it would take 48 hours to delete!  It sure as hell did'nt take them 48 hours to block all my images. |

Like Mr. T mentioned, I can't go back and redo all those pics, way too many build logs over the years. I will personally start a new thread with a few pics to get folks up to speed on the current project. This is turning out to be a real Baby Rump Kisser, nothing we can do but forge on. We're in the same boat as a lot of modelers, so we Ruck Over Bby! lol. Same here Leon, I deleted my account well over 4 days in it's still there. Which annoys me immensely. It mentions my account will be deleted at 07/09/2017...Now I thought that was the US way of portraying a date - so in this case the 9th of July. Now I start to think it's the European way of portraying a date - which I don't hope and want - because that would mean my account will be there untill the 7th of September. They even annoy me more than they did before  Cheers |

looks like the backlash from the world has had a small effect. The Terms of Use now including the follow statement and it does appear in all CAPS:

downloading what I want to keep and deleting..... they MIGHT have kept me for a better monthly/yearly rate, but not like this.

They can kiss off at any rate. The ol bate and switch is usually for the DC Beltway, but apparently not.
I'm not going to deal with this until the fall when I get back in the bunker. By then I should have a good idea what I'll use and start new build logs. Fotki seems to be a decent choice and I already pay them.
Since I realistically don't have the time to go back to older build logs and redo every pic, the PB logo will always be present reminding people of just how PB choose to deal with it's customers, paying or not. See, it ain't all bad after all, negative advertising! I wonder if anyone got fired over this stupidity or did they get a promotion.
