Had to take the Mrs to the ER about 3 1/2 hours ago! She just finished sharpening a cutting knife and was cutting up stuff for our salad and dropped it cutting a gash in the top of her right foot.Took 6 stitches to close it up.Luckly it was'nt deep enough to do any damage to the nerve or tendon.

Wow! Glad she'll be OK. But dropping a #11 into my foot is a constant worry.

Gravity is to be treated with respect - it can be unpredictable Despite the trip to ER and stitches, that was a lucky escape for your better half! Sliced into my thumb yesterday when I slipped with the nano-saw...lots of blood, but no stitches.

Oops, probably not the best way to store away a knife. That was extreme luck nothing got seriously damaged in the foot! All the best, for both of you.

Wow! Glad she'll be OK. But dropping a #11 into my foot is a constant worry. A #11 not attached to a handle is more or less harmless when dropped...

Peter, thank you! My Mrs loves to cook. Just has to be more careful with sharp objects.

Id have squirted it with superglue and duct taped it closed...... LOL.
Seriously, glad to hear it was not more serious than it is. Big knives moving towards flesh are not good (any knife moving towards flesh is a bad thing unless its medium well done)

Bad news fellas! The Mrs. got her stitches out.She saw an orthopedic surgen yesterday and had an MRI done on her foot. She did cut a tendon to her big toe and has to have surgery on monday to reattach it.she'll be laid up for 3-4 weeks and then start physical therapy. She'll be wearing a boot that looks like it belongs to Frankenstein to keep the foot immobile to keep from pulling the stitches out.

Leon, a suggestion from my wife's foot surgery experience. Ask the Doctor to prescribe a "knee scooter" to help your wife keep from putting weight on the freshly repaired foot, also giving her increased mobility and freedom. Hope this helps her and will be praying for her, Joel & Paula Smith.

Bad news - wish her all the best and a speedy recovery Leon! On the plus side, you could do a cool paintjob on the boot, proper Mad Max style When I had my lower leg in plaster I painted it up to make it look like blood was spilling out the top - yes I know, I'm a sick puppy but the looks I got were hilarious.

Ouch! Sorry about the bad news... wishing her speedy recovery. Maybe it is a good timing for you to teach her how to model?
