BoB King Tiger, FINALLY done ;)

Been a long time since I’ve dame any armor and decided on a Battle of the Bugle King Tiger. Hmmm that may also be the last piece of armor I did.

Stared with doctoring the welds, adding cutting truck marks on the edge of the steel plates Also started on the hot rolled steel mill scale surfacing.





On the last KT I did I thought I lost a part to mount the idler axle. But I knew I couldn’t have since there’s not part listed on the Dragon instructions. And we know Dragon NEVER make a mistake on the sheets. Same thing in this box too. A ¼” AL tubes took care of that and it will actually be able to take up the track tension.

I just checked my Dragon late production Ardennes 1944 and the shaft for the hull is part of the idler swing arm.

So yours has "something", where my AL tube is, that fits into the hull? What's the kit number?

Tony, I looked at the sheet online but it only shows the part installed but it good to know it's right for you when you get to that kit.

Last update ages ago of the very beginning's of this thing. But slow progress, and a small setback, but I’ve made it to here. The setback was looking for a missing part on the bench, putting the build on my chair to get it out of the way, TOTALLY forgetting that after about 30 seconds and did a full ham press and sat on it.

Once I fix the little things I noticed in the photos (the great reminder of things missed) I’m calling it done. Some shiny spots that need to be dealt with and a few clamps added at the end that should match the background color.

Eh, it's alright.

Beauty of a finish! That low-angle shot especially gets me - always gives a better impression of what the real thing would look like (vs "model-viewing" angle).

Seems to be what I do . I did that with Model Master enamels when they first came out but I hardly use them now then I did the same thing with Tamiya paints .
