Here's what I can do for you. I did a check on the Voyager website last night, and they sell a complete photo etch fret for the Panthers, and they also sell a mini fret for just the grill screens. Now they list the "G" as different from what they call out as "D/A". It appears the D and A are similar! I got you covered with the Dragon "A" fret. I also have the Eduard fret (the big one) for the kit. I'm going to order in the big Voyager set for another "A" build, so will not need the Dragon fret anyway. How you fixed for barrels? gary

Looking nice Leon, will this be a Kursk vehicle? I know the box art indicates the 52 Battalion etc.
I have this same kit and it's a good one....Paul

Looking good Leon! If you fit the skirts you should be able to get away without the top run of the tracks.

Looking great Leon! (LOL) yeah, prepping the tracks prior to the top does make things go a bit easier...no pain no gain, right? I try and leave the idler or sprocket loose until the last possible moments. It helps for the most part. Dierk is spot on too...if you have the skirts on...grip-n-rip brotha!

Hey Leon! Sorry I didn't see this sooner.
The Panther D and A were so similar, you can almost always intermix aftermarket parts for them with no issues (zimmerit is the exception). Take a look at the sprue breakdowns for a Dragon D and A - they use about 90% of the same sprues. Exhaust setup, some tool placement, and pistol and gun port size/type/locations (which is what affects the AM zim sets) are about the only things externally that changed.
Looking good!

Leon,
Awhile back I did a lot of research on Panthers at Kursk Russia. The first group were a little different than a generic Panther D. Mostly in storage boxes, and tools. If memory is right, they didn't have the smoke grenade launchers, but could be wrong. Somebody did an after market kit to build one, but who? Also carried some really interesting paint jobs! Later issue Panthers at Kursk seemed to be more like a standard issue Panther D. gary

I found several side shots of Kursk Panthers, but they were all from the driver's side. They had a box about even with the turret on the opposite side. Looks like they did have the smoke dischargers on the turret. There were two head lights on the front, verses the more common one head light. Can't say I've ever seen a shot from the rear. There were some really unusual camo schemes used. try "Bing Images" gary
