Good evening Leon Thank you as always for your support. Andy Thank you my friend. This update is from several days work. This was NOT a marathon session. The camo was done free hand as an exercise, with the exception of the border between the underside and topside colors. To soften this edge I went back over it with the AB shooting RLM 65. This helped me achieve a couple of "soft" radiuses that would have been a pain to mask for a soft edge. There are stencils galore in this kit. Thought not as much as Academy's F-4 kits. I did end up with some silvering of the decals. Note to self...go with several more light coats of satin clear coat. The 687 on the left side turned out much better. This is after several satin coats to seal the decals in preparation of weathering. There have been several more light coats of satin with good effect on the decals. Today 687 is now standing on its own three legs.
Only the nose gear have received their doors. The other doors have yet to receive their finishing touches. All of the doors are stenciled with 687. There will be NO borrowing of doors for other AC.

Good morning Marc. Thank you very much my good man. No worries about the questions. I mostly use Vallejo paints. Both their Model Air and regular paint. Their regular paint shoots just fine through my AB. It just needs to be thinned down quite a bit. As to the AB, I use an Iwata Custom Micron C+. It's my work horse.
I am looking forward to seeing your builds of the kits.

Really liked the end results. Have the same kit in my stash with plans on doing a North Vietnamese Mig21. Yet seeing yours, I might do another. Plus always wanted to do a two seater some time or another. Have the AMK L29 in the same scale, and it comes with all kinds of national markings. gary

Good evening Gary. Thank you very much for taking the time to have a gander, and for the compliment. I know I'll certainly be building another one or several....

Good evening Gary. Thank you very much for taking the time to have a gander, and for the compliment. I know I'll certainly be building another one or several.... I've never been up on Warsaw Pact insignias (let alone the others), but is that East German? The camo paint is striking to say the least. Makes a Vietnamese Mig look generic. Here's a piece of trivia for you all: Bob Lutz (think Camaro) was the former head dude at Chrysler, and later became head of engineering at General Motors is an aircraft buff. He has one of the few privately owned Mig21's up in Michigan. gary

Thank you T. Good evening Gary, Yup. This is East German. A MiG 21? Now that would be a way to wind down.

Ah, the good old 687 from Preschen AB (Jagdfliegergeschwader 3). Very well done! We have a museum nearby where lots of them are in display. That reminds me I should really finish off my Cuban 21-R build. Greetings from Leipzig, Saxony (which is right in the former GDR )

Andy, Good afternoon my friend. That was right nice of you to recognize that the other fellow loves Migs. It is a well thought out/engineered kit. Any errors that happened building it I believe are all mine.
Lucas, Good afternoon, and greetings from the Pacific Northwest. Thank you kindly for the compliment. Especially as it appears you've got access to a few real ones. Thank you for sharing the picture. That's a great line up.

Lucas, Those are some splendid pictures. I will certainly keep the offer in mind, as I have several more MiG-21's in the stash. Thank you kindly Carl. Thank you very much my friend. I think you'll enjoy the kit. This one started as a "weekend" kit. By the time I got the AM and some scratch building....it stopped being a "weekend" kit.
