It's a 13 hour drive and just about all of my models are too big to fit in an Airbus overhead bin.
Thing is, IPMS-2019 is a non-starter. Who in hell is going to go to Chattanooga? Me neither. So anything completed over the next 3 years wont see a big-kid's contest until 2020 presuming they announce a proper venue.
I may yet visit Phoenix this year. But it will probably just be two days and no contest entries.

You never watched captain Sisko on Deep Space Nine?
It was a fun show. If the other shows were about a bunch of guys in an RV travelling across the country then DS9 was a show about the people working at a truck stop along the way.
One of the things they could do with the script which they couldn't do with other shows was to root the characters to a single location. The whole premise is about a station rather than a ship. So the characters get to interact and become part of the people who live on the planet connected to the station.
If you've got netflix and enjoyed the other Star Trek shows from the 1990's, give this one a few episodes. It's not bad.
Also, I'm glad you like the model. Wherever they decide to host IPMS nationals in 2020, you may see it there.

Looking better all the time! What's the final look on this thing? Typical fleet whitish-grayish-white?
Did a quick google search...I don't believe I've ever seen any episodes of DS9. Familiar with the base because of the model you see at shows pretty frequently, but that's it. Added to queue!

Looking better all the time! What's the final look on this thing? Typical fleet whitish-grayish-white? No idea yet. The trouble is that this ship was only ever seen as a computer graphic in the harsh light of vacuum. We never see the exterior under interior lighting. Most of the reference material talks about pale grey with various accent colors. I'll plan to go in that direction unless something dramatic should come along.

You are one sick dude John, lolol. But then we again, we do expect this type of work/project from you. I just hope you're not working on styrene while in the cockpit!!! Always a pleasure to see your latest model in person, so hopefully sometime this year at a show?
