Wow! Spooky! Plenty of on-line references for this sort of thing, I think one has been used for several low-budget horror videos (Waverly Hills Sanatorium). I had a look round Fort Widley in the mid-'70s and a lot of the stuff for the ARP guys was still there...
Regards,
M

Cool project. I 'd use a printed tile floor and score it with a blade afterwards.A fellow modeler here made a similar theme in a shadow box. I can post a couple of images if it's ok.

Ok then It's very difficult to take photos with the glass in front he said. The artist is George Mefsut and you can find his works in FB and several forums.

I had seen it before but it has certainly made me stop and think about my project and what I can do to improve it. I know some of Georges amazing work. He is very talented and now we are seeing some of his work in print.

The way you are goin' to display your dio will define the way you 're gonna build and paint it. A static dio is designed and painted differently than a shadow box that will have hidden parts from the viewer.

Looks great....kind of like what a hospital would look like a few years after a zombie/apocalypse/The Walking Dead scenario. Imagine having some of these in a abandoned home. For those interested (like me), checked Ebay and Dan Models offers two different types of bed: single and a family bed (double, maybe a queen?) size. But you only get 1 family bed. Singles are $22 including shipping for two, the family bed is $20.50 including shipping. U.S. prices of course.

Dan Models do some interesting stuff.

That floor reminds me of the scene in "Awakenings", I also recall reading something somewhere about the checkerboard pattern being commonly used because it was thought to create a sense of subconscious order for the inmates. Nice to see you back at work on this one!
