Ah, the joy of a resurrected project! Looks good from here. Regarding slack in tracks, keep in mind that very loose tracks were easily thrown. Even Russians with no maintenance time were aware of that.

It looks like your groundwork is representing soft, "virgin" dirt, so I'd sink it in a bit. Very good looking so far.
