A lot of pictures have disappeared and become little boxes with X in them. Examples : Figures section - Eastern Viking, Rust buckets - Restore Me, Dioramas - Asylum. Anyone else seeing the same ? .

Some pictures are, indeed, missing - I suspect it has to do with individual accounts, but what do I know...

Yes, there are very few, if any builds I can view any more. It's what is keeping me away from the forum of late. No sense to visit if I can't view anything.

My Asylum photos were uploaded directly from my computer, not through a host site. Will have to see what the Fixit Fairies can do.

Hi all
It appears to only be affecting images hosted by postimages.org. I've checked and it seems to be offline.
All my pics (FLICKR) are fine, so doesn't appear to a forum problem.
ATB.

I checked all those pages and from here, at least, everything seems to be showing up just fine.
I am not sure what may be causing photos to show up for some and not others. Thank for posting the question though...would not have picked up on it otherwise...LOL
Here is what I do know....and please bear with me. This appears to be a lot like airbrushes and paints. Not all paints work the same nor do the airbrushes. The same could be said about operating systems and browsers. Not that this helps at all, I use Windows 10 (which to be honest is total s*it...but I digress) and currently Firefox as my browser. Not that any of this is perfect, because it is not, relatively speaking, I do not run into that many issues of sites not opening and pictures not showing up....beside the Photobucket pics that went bah-bye...that was a Photobucket assault all the way..LOL
With that said, if and when I do have an issue, 99% of the time it is either the operating system or the browser. If Windows 10 pops an update, it will change something possibly affecting how my PC preforms. More often than not, it is the browser. This is evident in a recent Chrome update preventing photos form being seen on select sites around...then there was the Shockwave and Silverlight non-support issues with Firefox which prevented even myself from accessing site content here and on the KitMaker.
What I am trying to say here (which could have been much shorter I suppose) is while there is always the possibility it could be the ProBoards host or postimages.org causing the issues, it is more likely the individual browsers might be the culprits some where along the line. I am not definite of this...just tossing it out there.
I guess first, try another browser for a few minutes to see if the problem still exists. If it is not happening, check your browsers add-ons and cashe. Add-ons screw with everyhting and cahe both on browsers and your PC can mess with the viewing experience!
If not the browser, there is the possibility it could be the operating system causing the revolt somehow through either a recent update...or possibly one that is actually needed. I am not saying anyone' PC i junk or causing the problem, it is just another point to look!
Another possibility could in fact be the postimages.org and I am not seeing it due to luck in it being fixed prior to me looking...or if there is any "fairy dust" sprinkled in the Admin rights that prevents me from seeing it (that was a little attempt at humor). If postimages.org could be the issue...please try using a different format for uploading the images to check. Either FLickr or Imgur. Both are reliable and do not have the same clamp on the neather regions Photobucket has on the web right now.
After all of this, there is nothing I am seeing out of the ordinary either in the pages nor in the system. However, please keep letting us know if there are issues of any kind...this is the only way we can try and keep the lights on and make the MSC experience something we can all have some fun with.

? My pictures directly uploaded to here from my computer so may be a forum problem ?? Interesting. I didn't know that you could upload directly from a PC. Yes, you can, technically. At the top of the editor..."some" people may see a button "upload image" or "add image to post" which then prompts the postimages.org popup box which allows you to find the picture you want on your PC and upload it direct. HOWEVER, a while back we disabled this sytem, not because it has and issue running, but rather that people simply did not care enough when using it to size pictures down to the web standards of 800x600. Full size pictures 1mb to 4mb were being uploaded. MSC, being a free Proboards platform, gives a certain amount of storage for the forum to use. In terms that are easier to follow, if no pictures are added with the upload system, the allotted space would never be filled up...with 800x600 pics being allowed by all members using the upload system, it would take many years without maintenance to fill...but with 2 people adding full size pics in a couple builds....things would be full in no time. I mentioned "some" people may see this and other may not...honestly, there is no answer there...LOL We have the feature turned on for the staff only....not that they use it really. Somehow this snuck into some members profiles. Again, the individuals uploading, I believe, are doing so with correctly sized photos...or I would hope so as I do not check the content in the folder too often. The downside to uploading direct is the same downside to using Photobucket in that at some point, if there is any issue at the postimages.org or Proboards level and the pictures are lost, they are gone!

Thanks Dierk! I checked and I can see all of the images in your thread just fine. I guess, and this is only a guess, check the version of FF you are using. If it is current, take a peek inside the add-ons section and see what might be running. THis many not do anything, but I suspect it may. I am not familiar with Win7 other than I used it a while back...and liked the platform. There may be some unsupported script for the platform now that 10 in in full mode.

One question to start...are you not seeing the image in the post on the forum from a PC or seeing it but not seeing it if you click on it? I ask, because I see the image form my PC in the thread. However, if I click on the image, I an transported to a Postimage 404 error message. This seems like a Postimage issue right now. As for the Microsoft Edge...I am on the fence. I recently did use it for about 2 weeks and went back to Firefox. I had issues with viewing pictures and the entire platform is geared to people who live by the App. But it did run smoothly for the most part. In addition, just prior to going back and forth....I did run into a PC issue and just reloaded Windows 10. There was a major update I did not know ready at the time. Windows removed a couple things I really liked about the system...for absolutely no reason! LOL There could be something going on between the New update in 10and Edge...which is basically a re-branding of Explorer....which I have not used in 10 year as it sucked! The new Edgeis not as bad, but I can see the similarities.

I am on windows 10 and using Microsoft Edge. I am seeing exactly what Dierk is seeing on his thread. - or should I say not seeing. One question to start...are you not seeing the image in the post on the forum from a PC or seeing it but not seeing it if you click on it? For example your BF109 thread. I don't see any of your pictures. Just a small box with an X in it. This is on my windows 10 PC. I go to my phone Samsung Galaxy S7 and I am seeing the same. All your photos on your BF109 thread are gone. Next my Microsoft Surface tablet your BF109 - no pictures. My tablet on Dierks post I see the same as Dierk. The first pic showing side and top view of tank are there and the last 2 pics showing Miniart wheels are there. All other pictures missing. Still on tablet March model of the month no pictures but I go to Mustang1989 56 F100 build and I clearly see his pictures also thug626 Tamiya F4F-4 Wildcat - I see these pictures all clearly. Possibly the ones I see have been loaded differently ?

Can't see the pics in the thread. If I click on them I get a 'server not found' page. Same with the image you use in your signature - just a 'broken image' icon. Funny thing is: only got this problem on MSC. Got none of these issues on another PB forum I'm on. As Peter and I are using different operating systems and browsers, I find it hard to believe that we end up with identical problems because 'something under the hood' has changed.

Again...thanks for all of the information guys! It does help with trying to figure all this crap out. I apologize for any inconveniences and for the frustration level before we can figure this out. What is frustrating me most right now, is the fact that in all of the threads mentioned, I am seeing all of the pictures clearly.
But, if I click on the ones that show as linked (small hand appears versus just my cursor)I am brought to postimages.org and given a 404 message...except when I click on my own which in the 109 thread were uploaded direct to the system, I received this message:
"postimg.ORG domain is locked by Registry, no prior notice. While we hope to resolve the issue, we chose postimg.CC as our new home. Please update codes embedded in your websites"
THis could explain a lot! Not to mention a few minutes ago when I logged in to type this message, ProBoards had the site in service. What does this mean? Not a clue...LOL Possibly they were updating the code for the postimage...or not. Unfortunately I am at work at the moment. If I need to manually add code to the site to cover the changes to postimage, I cannot do this until I have some time in front of the home PC.
This is sounding like there is definitely something up with the postimage stuff...please let me know if you notice anything causing issues....we will figure this out!

Anthony...don't worry about anything, it wasn't you my friend...LOL I was kind of referencing a couple years ago and there was a few guys putting their entire build career on one post and hammering the system. But this does bring up something about the new updates for Win 10 btw...their old picture gallery, which was brilliant for resizing entire folders of pics in one shot is not supported! I have several programs to do this with, but it is like pulling teeth to do them Recently I downloaded and have been using 'FILEminimizer". It works exceptionally well if anyone is having trouble with resizing.

Looking today at Mancave Revamped thread. I can not see the photos in the original post. Reading on several other members can not see them either. Brian says they were uploaded directly to the site. Then he reloads them through Flicker. I can see those images. So it appears that those of us that are not seeing some images, it depends on how they were loaded. I am confused about why some can see them and others can not. Anyway hope this helps solve the problem.

I would be tossing around guesses to why some folks are seeing pics and others are not prior to the message I posted from postimg.ORG in my...post. That could have been a simple cache things as now all of the pictures on the site that have been uploaded using the image loader here on MSC have gone dark as a result of this. A quick fix is to simply upload pictures to a normal online image site and switch them out...at least on the thread you are dealing with right now. A couple lines of code does need to be added to the system to correct the problem...however, this is a simple free platform for the forum with little to know access to these registries...but I am looking.

Just tried to update my 'Manchurian Candidate' thread - now the 'add picture' button's gone... Button is gone because I removed it! postimg.ORG is the problem. We are compounding it by adding more images this way. Sorry about this Deirk. Please try any of the free image site to upload and copy the url to post them....that will eliminate the issue from continuing...until I can figure out how to break into the system!

Small Hopeful Update....
I was able to do a little "creative" editing in our end of the system...basically telling the MSC forum that postimg.org was a bad word to use and it should be replaced with a good work which is postimg.cc.
I noticed I can see all the images I could not earlier this morning. Please let me know if you all are seeing the same thing or not!
