Hi Guys, Well, back in the day around 1993 Dragon introduced the JSU 122, the original series. This is the kit that had some issues with the top and bottom hull panels. If you built the kit as is out of the box, there was a problem with the space between the tracks and top hull ending with a very tight fit. This was corrected in later releases. So to fix this, I added some sprue strips ( about 2mm wide) on the edges of the lower hull so the top panel would be raised enough to clear the tracks, but this created a problem by raising the rear fenders, so I added spacer strips to compensate for the gap. Turned out ok I guess, but I haven't build the tracks yet. We'll see.... Photos: Went a little Cuco with the fender welds, this was just having some fun...mostly wanted to see if I could replicate those Russian welds, from looking at photos they varied quite a bit as to quality. Cast affect and extension of the weld effect, kit vertical welds were ok so I didn't bother with them. Scratch built barrel w/barrel liner...cast effect extends down to lower glassis. That's about it for now, stay tuned. Later, Paul Another issue with this old kit was the road wheels, a bit too small so I used some left over Tamiya JS III wheels, better detailed and they have the cast effect Dragon lacks. Solder welds added to lower hull on the bump stops... Rear view showing where I added more welds to the exhaust deflectors and casemate strip w/some bolt head detail. There are welds on the lifting loops but I had enough adding welds. The vertical welds on the rear of the casemate were missing, so I added those as well.

Nice work on the added details Paul! Looks like you did OK with the track clearance.

Thanks Leon, the tracks were a bugger to construct, once I started putting them on, I knew they'd fit.
Now just the various details to add then ready for paint! It will be a different approach to painting so we'll see how she goes.
Cheers, Paul
