I should probably know better. I've noted one of the troubles with my long term participation in this hobby is as my techniques evolve, and I'd like to think mine have, the older stuff is not looking as good as it did some years back. I am also running out of display space, and to solve these problems I've disassembled some of the earlier projects with the intent of combining the salvageable items in one large project which will in reality free up space. Here's what I got so far In general I don't really care much for doing large dioramas as they tend to overwhelm me, but here a large portion of the work is already done. We'll see how it goes, there are many directions I could take this in and I gots some thinkin' to do

I haven't started taking my old builds apart yet.....I just don't think I could stomach it. lol
I am, however, looking very much forward to seeing what you do here Mark.

Thanks guys this is something I'll probably not work straight thru we'll see. Perhaps I can hide all my mistakes if I make it busy enough

Yessir it is; this will most likely proceed slowly

Looking forward to seeing this,as for me I have purchased some replacements for older less satisfying builds, but definitely not in such an ambitious way

Interesting concept… can’t say I’ve ever taken pieces off a kit as salvage for another build, or even a redo; closest I’ve come is a revised paint application to a Winter diorama. I’ll be watching this thread for sure!

I'll take a model apart to use bits or to re-do the whole thing, with only a little feeling of... something. There are three or four in the case that will probably be "forever keepers" or something like that, models that may have some emotional attachment (gift from my wife, purchased on a significant trip, first "First", etc) but I like to try the same kit more than once, and maybe the real reason I'll disassemble one, I don't like looking at my mistakes or errors. IS that bad?

Given what I'm gonna try to do here I can't say it's bad at all, Russ. When I start this (or continue, depending on how one looks at it) I should probably begin with a base. Countryside or town? Decisions, decisions

Very intriguing concept that I am excited to see through to the final outcome.
