Thanks… four rookie mistakes kinda has me chuckling, to be honest    I know it’s because at those points in time, it was sleep deprivation and not taking my time most likely (sciatica). But the takeaway is, I’m keeping forward momentum going. I noted I was getting Real trigger itchy nit being able to sit at the workbench so, that’s a good sign.

Thanks! Yeah, she’s an old Kit, alright… some of the warpage needed some compromises. I’ve pretty much resigned myself that I won’t make the delivery date for the tournament, but I talked to the director and he said not to sweat it, and would love it for next year…which is a definite. The plus side is, I can take my time with it, and if I can disguise the mistakes with weathering mud and snow enough, I may even enter it with other kits in a Spring, IPMS show for giggles.

So an update… good news bad news, kinda update:

The bad news is is, with everything that’s piled on and gone wrong with family and body, I just plum ran out of time to be able to deliver this to the wargame tournament director…but have promised it to him next year. He’s more than cool with that, I’m glad to say.

The good news is, I can slow my roll a bit and finish this build out without being rushed, and thereby achieve more with its quality. I had already planned a few compromises with it so, fortunately I don’t have to do that now!

So, on with the build!

Sometimes it's just bad timing Emery and it sounds like you've got about the best attitude one can have through it all. Hang in there brother.....this too shall pass.

Looking forward to seeing what you do now that you don't have a time constraint.

As you well know, but… this is only a hobby… unless one can be part of the few that actually makes a living off of building models and pay all their bills from the task. For the rest of us mere mortals, real life always trumps our hobby timelines. Family, work, etc. always manage to interfere with our efforts… 😉

Rushing a model to meet a deadline definitely sucks the joy out of the hobby. Glad you’re going to have some extra time to give it what it deserves.
