I have the Bomber Resupply Set as well. It's built, just needs to be painted. It is a great set. So big an improvement over the old 1/72 vehicles that it is almost unrecognizable as Airfix. The only problem with mine is it didn't come with the clear parts. I got it cheaper than normal because of that.

In fact some very thin flat sheet may be even better than the kit supplied stuff.

In fact some very thin flat sheet may be even better than the kit supplied stuff. Yeah that's exactly what I was going to do.

I've built the set along with some Hasegawa and ESCI 1/72 sets. It was so much fun I bought several more. I also built the Airfix 1/48 "Ready for Battle" set that came with the Hurricane, which I think they only issued once so far. Why is that?

They released the fueler and ground crew with equipment sets separately around the same time that the "Ready" set came out.

Great job with this old kit. You do the "Belle" proud.

Too cool! I am always huge fan of diorama builds. That section is one of spots I must see at all model shows. You did great!

The Memphis Belle has returned home to me as the gentleman I built it for passed away and his son has no room to display it. I also have no room to put it and do it justice so it now languishes in a box with the wings removed (I left them as click in so it could be transported). There are no places around here that would be interested in it so I thought (just a thought at this point) I may try to sell it on eBay. It seems builds such as this can get a pretty penny in auction. I have never even considered doing this before but I have to draw the line at what I keep someplace as my house is not that large and I would like to keep what space I have for the projects I am most interested in. Have any of you ever done this? Is it even worth the time? So sold this to a buddy last night. He offered me $200 and I jumped on it. Since I did not pay for the kit in the first place and the supplies were all things I already had on hand that means I made around $5 and hour building it. Was sort of sad seeing it leave again but...

Sure beats the round file or sitting in the dark! Everybody's happy, including the model.

Well if there ever was a kit where having the clear parts go missing was not an issue the support equipment one would fit the bill!

I was wondering about the wrong names and you answered that for sure. Hollywood does take a lot of liberties and tends to hack stories up Blast from the past! Just watched this video that shows how much they distorted the "facts" for the WW2 propaganda movie and just how outlandishly wrong the 1990 pure fiction movie was! www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzONDCVHiGw
