Your texture looks spot on! What product(s) are you using to achieve it?

I did enjoy modeling my IS-2 (the Tamiya) a few years ago. It's really a beast. What you did achieve until now looks very promising.

The rough cast armour treatment is spot in...this is going to be a beauty of a build.

Hi Lads Happy Patricks day Thanks for the comments, few answers the kit is the tamiya 1/35 scale kit, forgot to put the pic in,for the texture i used afew different burr drill bits to make afew holes and dents, i then stippled the surface wit liquid poly ,left to dry i then mixed some humbrol filler with a drop of cellulose thinners and stippled this mixture on to the surface with an old paint brush. Forgot one a me own rules to paint the inside of the tank wheels before glueing together,! putting it down to the pre Patrick s day beer . I was very happy with the kit barrel no very obvious join line ,would gall me to buy a barrel the same price as the kit.

That's a fun kit, did one myself a couple of years ago. Good job on the texturing, and I like the beat-up fenders too. It seems the average Ivan tank driver was a mite careless at times...

Sure thing, using AM just for the sake if using AM doesn't make sense, the barrel looks good and the whole thing is moving along.
I just hate link and length,so I replaced the kit tracks with indies.

That texturing does look good on the sides of that turret and I don't blame you for not wanting to purchase a barrel that would cost the same as the model did!! Remember....no modeling and drinking now.

Great work indeed fella I agree regarding the price of AM barrels......also....it`s tricky trying to find a supplier in the UK so i have to head to places like Poland etc.......then i get wacked for postage!!!

Man do I ever know what THAT'S about!! I had to purchase an interior set for a Kingfisher today that's out of production from an individual. The postage was CRAZY!!! But......I had to have it. lol

Great looking work on your JS-2. It's certainly a cool subject. I'm also very impressed with your texturing. It is indeed very realistic as are the damaged fenders. Looking forward to some further progress on this.

Hi Lads Ive added some stowage but not the amount you see a lot a russian tanks after the battle of Berlin tracking around with ,this tank is going to be still in the thick a things , The recognition flag you see on a lot a late war tanks ,was made with a square a lead foil ,manipulated over the the contours of the rear engine deck . The tow cables i used are the kit string witch came out ok, the rest are just bits from the spares box. So to date a few pics.

Man.....the detail.....the DETAIL!!! This is looking great so far!! I like the usage of the lead foil for the flag. I've got some of that stuff myself and never thought to use it for something like this. Beautiful work.

Awesome, I just ordered this one. Glad to know it’s a good kit! Yours looks great my friend. Is the stowage just random pieces or a set designed for this particular vehicle?

Very cool, and great progress. I'm wondering if you have gotten any inspiration from Night Shift (Martin Kovac)? At least the turret casting marks are reminding me a little of his... LOL - don't worry, I'm not at all criticizing. I would definitely copy some of the stuff that dude does. Or what you're doing in this case.
