That thing is just plain awesome... Thanks! Old army buddy was over for Christmas and said that from his memory it is spot on except it should have at least 2 cases of beer. I was going to forgo the beer cases but he said it will never be complete until they are there so I will have to try harder to find better vintage pictures.

This is cool. Neat Idea to do all the old cars you use to own. I specially like Black Sabbath poster.

Haha this is brilliant, excellent build Tcoat !
I bet that old Econoline was a blast to own and there`s probably some great memories surfaced during the build !

Haha this is brilliant, excellent build Tcoat ! I bet that old Econoline was a blast to own and there`s probably some great memories surfaced during the build ! If I could have any single vehicle back this would probably be it. I didn't own it long but spent a load of time with it. Unfortunately it burned to the ground shortly after I sold it. The battery was behind the driver's seat and guy that bought it pinched the cables between the floor and the side of the engine doghouse which then of course caused a short and the electrical all went up. The burned out hulk sat out behind an industrial plaza for about 10 years before it finally disappeared.

Excellent concept, and so nostalgic for you, but unfortunately we can never go back to "the good old days." I bet that van was a net positive financially with all the money you saved on hotel rooms with the girls...lol.

So that is what the inside of those Govt vans parked outside my house look like. Man, that is one super cool project. A real time capsule with the wood paneling. Awesome work!!

As an Army private in the 70s there would have been no money for hotel rooms at the best of times. Did get a lot of free beers from my buddies that borrowed the van though.

In Moparman's 72 Demon thread I mentioned the passion for details in cars we used to own. This reminded me of a conversation I had last weekend. We had people over for Easter and it was one of those very rare occasions where somebody was actually looking at my models. When they came to this one they said "it is really cool but the seat in the back is at a weird angle". They are correct. It IS! I explained that the seat was just an old bar stool screwed to the plywood floor and that it was bent at that weird angle due to passengers with suicidal tendencies riding there while moving. It is probably accurste to 1 or 2 degrees.

Tough room... all this detail work and they talk about the seat. That is one of those "you had to be there" details you added to your build
