Got my first set of aftermarket parts today. These things are just beautifully cast. They do look very good! What are they for? I'm guessing a vehicle given the scale?

I'm guessing it's a similar story here, combined with a much smaller population means less purchasing power for the retailers etc.

They'll probably go on a 1/24 '66 Malibu (The old Monogram kit). But I may change my mind by the time I get around to that kit. Really I just wanted to check out the quality and find a good source for wheel options. So many times I'm not satisfied with the kit wheels.

Yeah, I think I need professional help! Another friend gave me a good deal on those two nice kits and I couldn't resist again... always liked those P-61s! It is supposedly to be the nicest kit for that fighter.

Neat kits! I've been considering a GWH P-61. I hope you post your build of it.

I've been wanting to try out one of these Great Wall P-61s ever since I forced my way through the old Monogram one I had in my stash for years.

Afternoon Firstly apologies for not being around as much as I would have liked but I'm now on holiday, so will hopefully be able to contribute a bit more! Anyway, so only having had to work a half day today, I got my hair cut and then walked the 100 yds down the road to the local charity second hand bookshop. I had quick look around and spotted this for only £2. ATB Andrew

Well, I’ve had minimal modeling mojo flowing since the beginning of November… but I have made a few purchase for when it returns… I picked up both of these off eBay for lower than the prevailing prices for each item… I’ve been wanting to try my hand on one of these large scale Tamiya figures, and I do have the uniform insignia decal sheet of theirs that includes both 1/35 and 1/16 ranks, eagles, and such… This one was a real good price, as it did not have the instructions sheet, but I’ve already remedied that thru Scalemates… being 1/300 it should be a good sized ship on the display shelf once completed.

More stuff acquired, some from Andy's Hobby HQ and some detail stuff from Iceman Collections First up I got some stuff for my FW 190 as I had no Luftwaffe colors at all. I really like the AK real color line but they didn't have the cockpit grey so I got some Ammo stuff to try as well. I also got an oil brusher "fresh engine oil" effects brush, a refill of Tamiya rubber black (I put that stuff on everything) and some blue patinas oil brushers as well. Then I also bought a kit. Oops. But I have a plan for this one, saw it and wanted to go ahead and get it. Never built anything in 1/35 before. And some goodies from Iceman. Slots, in 3 different sizes with corresponding tires, a couple gorgeous 4 barrel carbs and an LS based Pontiac inspired tri power engine. Will be fun to drop in an old Pontiac somewhere down the line.

Joel was actually an administrator over two other smaller forums at one point but decided to dedicate his time to Iceman Collections which was a good move for him. He's got some really cool stuff on his site.

I’m gonna have to order some stuff soon I think. I have a project or two that would be awesome with some of Iceman’s stuff on it. For the record, you’re all a bunch of bad influences! 😁

He has a nice selection of goodies. Shipping is usually quick. As you can see he leaves most everything on the supports. Not a big deal as we’re used to cleaning parts up anyways. You just have to be careful with the more delicate stuff

Hey, compliments will get you everywhere!
I have a large number of acquisitions to show to finish out the year. A raffle winner, two purchases; one was an early Christmas present, and the rest were Distressed Kit Auction winnings thanks to a client who paid for a commission. Okay, let's get started.. My raffle winner from the November IPMS meeting: Now my purchases, this one was bought so I can finish my SCUD C truck with the correct launcher arms: And my early Christmas present: And now for all my Distressed Kit Auction winnings. We'll start with the models. Remember I got almost all these for one or two bucks each, mostly because nobody else was bidding on them: These were bundled because they were the same kit and there was some question as to whether one or both were complete: I got this for the canopy as well as other accessories so I can finish a nine-year-old shelf queen: I probably already have one built, but this is a cool looking plane: Finally, at least for the models, there are six 1/72 scale vehicles here: four wargame kits already assembled and two GAZ AAA tracks inside the white box that need to be built: And now, here is where I spent real money; mostly because I wanted the tools and paints. These are all from a guy who just decided he was done with the hobby and literally pulled everything off his desk and packed it into boxes to donate to our club president. Our president then sorted them into associated groups to sell as package deals. These are the packages I got: We'll start with something simple: It might not look like much, but this box is full of treasures: there's even a wire stripper inside for stripping the wires to use on the models. Next up: I got those tools for the organizer tray and to use. Still, a ton of useful tools; the non-toxic glue notwithstanding.... More tools and brushes: One of my favorite packages: And now for the paints and other supplies. These packages have mostly Vallejo paints, some Mig paints and a number of gloss and dull varnishes along with a number of other items: And the final paint set is this Vallejo set, which I also got for the stand: Well, that completes the haul for this month, and most probably the year. I don't see myself getting any more Christmas money to spend on myself, but at least I'm loaded for bear for the new year. Oh, and for those who are curious; I paid $63.00 total for everything I got in the Distressed Kit Auction listed in this post.
