That is really cool Andrew. What does it scale out as? So I got this today from a local hobby shop, not a Hobbytown, anyway I told my wife that see I'm saving money ...I won't have to buy it at the Nats AND I save on shipping. Sleeping in my pick-up tonight LOL

You know Perry, there's a lot to be said for the saying "It's better to beg forgiveness than to ask permission" but, as you pointed out, it can come with consequences. But, despite those consequences, you ended up with one BOSS LOTUS KIT!!!! Take the hit and reap the rewards. Well done my friend. P.S. I do hope you have a big truck that's comfy.

That’s wonderful Andrew. Excellent educational kit that I hope you and Junior enjoy building together. Way too cool Andrew! Would love to see how it comes out at the end too! That is really cool Andrew. What does it scale out as? Sleeping in my pick-up tonight LOL Oh wow I’ve never seen anything like this. What a fantastic opportunity to teach and model. Thanks guys. I thought it was pretty cool when I saw it. As I type this we're halfway through it already....very good instructions, a great fit and very easy to put together....a lot of model manufacturers could learn from it!! I'll put a thread together later. We were fortunate enough to have tickets for the museum and real house but unfortunately photography was not allowed. Perry - according to the box it scales out to around 1/60 give or take, although there obviously have to be some compromises. ATB Andrew

It's on the radar to be obtained again though. Your Lotus kit promises to be one cool build when you get it on the bench so you'll have to give us a heads up when you get that on the bench.

Thank you Andrew , Joe: very comfy LOL SILVER406: I fondeled the plastic and parused the instructions yesterday, appears to be a fairly straight forward build, no major hard points....I say save your beans and snatch up one before they all go to never never land....or my stash, kinda trying to work out.....

Perry, The Tamiya Ford Cosworth engine's exhaust pipes need tweaking to fit properly. I hashed up one set by just gluing all the pipes to the collector. Both sides caused the collectors to rotate off position. Shortening both main exhaust pipes helped, but the last right side pipe had to be shortened just a tiny bit to properly fit. "The exhaust pipes do not fit properly without some adjustment. Both straight runs had to be shortened a small amount. The last pipe on this side also had to be shortened a bit. The foremost pipe was first attached to the straight run and checked for correct alignment. The back end of the straight run was then trimmed until it fit the bracket. The remaining pipes were then fitted. Some filling will be required at the collectors."Keavdog - Oh you car guys!!!

Always wanted to get one of the yellow Renault RE-20’s or blue Tyrell 6-wheelers.

This is a reissue, with photo etch. 1/12 scale it is big. I have the Tyrell reissue as well. Plan on picking up the new Meng offer at the Nats, it's a McLaren and looks like mid 90s 2ks? Don't know much about F-1 however I like the cars.

Sorry I missed your dampflokomotiv Chad, that is a really nice kit. There is also a PE aftermarket out for it. My first build came up with the chimeny above the front bogie not quite reaching the bottom of the boiler but it is fixabke with a quick You Tube video, or just leave it as it is difficult to see.

Well, heck. I got the rail gun, might as well have the locomotive. 🫤 Now, if I had unlimited display space and budget… and superb figure painting skills (which I do not for any of those pre requisites), I would get this locomotive, a gondola car with Flakvierling 38, along with a passenger car, and do a diorama of Goering’s arrival at Pas de Calais like in the movie Battle of Britain. Having all of the assembled brass waiting in formation, and touring vehicles… if I could pull it off…

This one's been a Holy Grail build for me for a LOOONG time. I actually had the Aoshima kit in the stash once already and got rid of it because there was no pre-apocalypse version of it with the hatch still intact. Such a cool looking car and I've ALWAYS had a liking for it in it's pre-apocalyptic state. I purchased another Aoshima kit to help out in providing the details needed to make it into a better looking result. The body has the smoothest finish I've seen yet from a resin caster. Sure, there's some clean up to do but as compared to other resin bodies I've received in the past....this ones EONS ahead of the pack.

WOW! This is probably the ONLY car kit I want to build! LOL LOL!! Aww don't go and say that now. LOL. Ya know Andy, when I got back into this hobby full swing 12 years ago I was an avid aircraft model builder. I mean, I'd visit the armor section sometimes and go to figures every once in a while, but when it came to the auto section.....I'd just skip it. Back then it was just a boring genre. What changed it all for me was a Christmas time visit to my brother's house and I saw the Monogram 1970 Challenger that I built for him when I was fourteen and had given to him as a gift on a shelf with tire front tires and hood missing and covered in dust. I asked if I could take it back home with me and revamp it for him in which he agreed to. I had no idea what I was in for this time around. I found out that all the aftermarket stuff available for auto builds was just mind blowing. It took me several months to bring the Challenger back from the dead and it's been to several shows since and has placed no lower than second place and received a Best Auto in Show award the very first time I took her to a show. After that I got into auto modeling full swing and now it's the aircraft that are secondary to me. Today, I go all out in building subjects and products that are anything but boring to me. So be forwarned......if you do end up picking up auto build.....be careful....it may not be your last.

Ok, so although studying hindered how much time I spent cutting and gluing plastic recently, it has not stopped me acquiring another large(r) scale aircraft. In this case a user on the other forum I am on had a bit of stash clear out. In the end I succumbed, in no small part to his very generous pricing and bought the below Zero. Off the back of that he then offered me the below Eduard Brassin Cockpit set for only £5 - I actually went back to make sure he was sure, given what they actually cost! So these arrived yesterday in what has to be one of the best packed kits I have ever seen and by my calculation for less than half the price new - including delivery - and as you can see they are as good as new! ATB. Andrew
