Ok SWMBO left me with a $ amount and unsupervised on the Sprue Brothers website. Just increased my 72nd scale stash by 11 new kits. Pics when order arrives Here are the goodies You are a true Sith lord of the dark side. It is my honor to know you. That is a righteous haul of 1/72 gems.

This one's been a Holy Grail build for me for a LOOONG time. I actually had the Aoshima kit in the stash once already and got rid of it because there was no pre-apocalypse version of it with the hatch still intact. Such a cool looking car and I've ALWAYS had a liking for it in it's pre-apocalyptic state. I purchased another Aoshima kit to help out in providing the details needed to make it into a better looking result. The body has the smoothest finish I've seen yet from a resin caster. Sure, there's some clean up to do but as compared to other resin bodies I've received in the past....this ones EONS ahead of the pack. What an epic score Joe! That is one fantastic kit let alone the subject matter. Very happy that you were able to scratch another off the bucket list. You've been quite the fortune hunter lately.

Ok, so although studying hindered how much time I spent cutting and gluing plastic recently, it has not stopped me acquiring another large(r) scale aircraft. In this case a user on the other forum I am on had a bit of stash clear out. In the end I succumbed, in no small part to his very generous pricing and bought the below Zero. Off the back of that he then offered me the below Eduard Brassin Cockpit set for only £5 - I actually went back to make sure he was sure, given what they actually cost! So these arrived yesterday in what has to be one of the best packed kits I have ever seen and by my calculation for less than half the price new - including delivery - and as you can see they are as good as new! ATB. Andrew Am amazing kit at an amazing deal. That will always make one's day. That is indeed a dandy score Andrew. Good on ya.

Well, heck. I got the rail gun, might as well have the locomotive. 🫤 Whoa Ho!! That is awesome Chad. And when that bugger is paired up with your rail gun...truly epic.

Although technically the kits were second hand in reality they were as good as new but he was selling them for only 2/3 RRP....as for £5 for the Brassin set, that's just plain bonkers....the cheapest I could find it (excluding postage) was £30! So it was too good to pass up!

Well I haven’t bought any new kits for awhile… but I have been picking up supplies. AZ AMPS meets a few miles away from Andy’s Hobby HQ, so after meetings, the club will stop in for a bit. I picked up a few items on my last visit Then this past weekend, we made a visit to So.Cal. for a quick family visit, and made a quick run to Brookhurst Hobbies. Man have I missed that shop with its huge selection and on hand inventory. Time was limited, so I couldn’t browse kits, but I did grab a few more supplies

Most shops I’ve been to have usually had someone behind the counter who initiated talk with you as you shopped. If they didn’t know you, they tried to find out where your interests were. If they did know you after awhile, they knew what you liked and spoke about the latest releases in your area(s) of interest, or general talk in that area. Now after 3 1/2 years of going to his shop, no such conversations have occurred. Granted I’m not in his shop as frequently (weekly in some cases and monthly in others) as the shops that I used to shop at, but I would think that he could identify someone who does come in every so often and do more than only answer questions. That’s the fun of a LHS impossible to duplicate with online shopping, the banter with the shop crew.

That's exactly what my LHS is. They know me and what I come in for every time. We end up talking shop all most of the time.

Good story about the LHS banter and a new acquisition. Military Hobbies in Orange CA, was at one point owned by Jim Woody, who was also an officer with both IPMS USA and the local IPMS chapter at the time. He knew me by sight from meetings, and my occasional shop visits, and my military modeling interests, although not particularly my specific areas. Anyways a case of the then new Academy 1/35 AH-1W had just arrived in the shop while I was there, so he opens up the carton, and of course has to open a kit for an inspection of the sprues. When he opens the kit box, he fans the lid towards me like a baker would over a cake or pie fresh out of the oven to allow a customer to breathe in the aroma. Needless to say, I ended up buying one that visit.

Yup, you have to have supplies. In the club I belong to, Silverwings in Sacramento, last meeting the stash of a passed member was brought in because he had left it to the club members and we got to pick what we wanted. Seemed like I was the only one interested in paint and I brought home a boatload. Recent purchases, except the first which I recently found. It was lost because I had duplicated the inventory number on another kit. Was sorting stuff in the basement and it crawled out from under a rock. I've got the slightly newer Bomber version of this kit and it does look very good.

You know Chad you're gonna need another locomotive to pull that right? Trumpy has another nice steam loco. , or a kinda cheesey early deisel yard mover.

Those Airfix Grants and Lees are as rare as hens teeth! But I’ve been told they really are good kits, especially in their time.

They only seem to have made them twice and likely in very small quantities. Hard to even find info on them but by the instructions (Thanks Scalemates) they look pretty decent by the standard of the day. Some pretty col suspended stowage if nothing else. The right paint job would rock it as long as viewed from 3 feet away. Dang it now I want one. You guys have to stop with the cool stuff!
