I love to read the stories of members and the provided information that go beyond just modeling. Tony has also always some of the nicest reference pics to share. It is funny because through my 20+ years of military service there are probably a total of about 30 pictures that I have. I just didn't take pictures since they cost money and every cent I had went into cars, women and beer when I was younger and a raising a family when I was not so young. Pictures from that era are pretty rare in general at least on the internet. As far as all the pictures I post for reference go the explanation is easy:

I snapped a really cool picture of a full moon rising behind our flag while underway. It was beautiful...moon, flag...secret ships radar array... Had film, yes film, developed by ships photo shop...never saw that picture. Didn't get in trouble just never seen the finished picture. Maybe it was a lousy shot, maybe it was " sensitive".

I took a lot of photos during my service time, but I later have realized that I didn’t have much of a photographers eye for such things. The stuff I was seeing was great, but my camera rarely was quite able to catch what I was seeing. Here a few of the better ones… NTC in Summer 1985 Train up for NTC rotation, Spring 1985…

Sleep were ya drop eh Stik? Lol. Looks like Yakima. So my quest for figures for this build was a bust. While putting parts on that could be lost, or not attached well after paint, I discovered that I can build it with the drivers hatch closed and add the highway gear later...I thought it was cool. I will post WIP pics very soon.

Pretty much Armor. That was my squad leader, Sgt Graham, a great mentor, wherever he is nowadays, the morning after a dawn engagement in an exercise. All I can say about that field problem was it was non stop 20 hour days for a few weeks, and those 4 hours of not doing something were not consecutive, or in darkness… there is an old army saying, why stand when you can sit, why sit when you can lay down, and get some sleep, because you never know when you can get some more… that exercise hammered that home…. Ever watched rabbits thru a thermal night sight? Lol!

Looks from the instructions I can paint and assemble windscreen seperate and install later. Going to black out interior. Lots of surface stuff and PE to secure but so far fit is good, no putty needed yet. Sorry Stik no bunnies for me, Navy active, and Nat Gaurd later...we weren't allowed to have cool toys LOL

Hey guys, haven't forgot this WIP. Life has gotten in the way the past couple weeks. My hope is to start shooting paint here in the next couple days. Tcoat, did the Canadian military undercoat their vehicles? I was thinking of shooting the underside and back side of the wheels black. I do intend to heavily weather the underside....by my standard anyway, however an undercoat would help sell the UN white IMO.

The underside, inside of the wheels, interior of hatches, and any removable equipment would all be NATO green. The white paint was just sprayed on exposed surface. It it was awkward to reach or hidden it stayed green.
