I certainly have a love/hate relationship with Italeri, all the airplanes in this post are Italeri, the Hasegawa kit had not been released when I did the Zwilling. The ambulance is from Academy which does great 1/72 wheeled vehicles, and the Sdf 232 and Flak 88 are the 1/76 Airfix kits.

Now if somebody was to make the Hamilcar glider…
Beautiful work John! The Gigant was an incredible piece of aero engineering for its time.

Whoa! That is truly marvelous John. The Gigant is beautifully done and with all the additional equipment it really looks the part. The Zwilling is quite impressive in its own right. Thanks for sharing all of these great builds with us.

Thanks, all. Glad to do my part to keep things rolling. Just don't make me do another Italeri kit right away, the Hasegawa 1/72 B-47 is enough of that on my plate for the moment.

Oh my John, that’s a smart looking 321! I remember this Gigant as far back as I can remember. Too complicated for my level of patience!

Yeah, right Chad. I'm sure you could do it better than me. I don't really have any patience, I just don't know when to quit so I have to keep going! Thanks for your kind comment.

Carlos, there is a 1/72 resin kit of the Hamilcar made by Planet. It's about $140 and all because of you I just ordered one. I've tried to get it before but it was always out of production. So far I've done the 321, the CG-4A, the Horsa, and the Hotspur. I have several other Geman gliders in the stash, and at least one Russian WW II troop glider.

John, how did she go together? Was it a pretty straightforward build?

John, how did she go together? Was it a pretty straightforward build? It is a typical older Italeri kit, needing careful fitting and attention to seams and sink marks. Lots of small parts with fits or locations that are not well defined and fragile once installed. But once done it sure looks like a 321. The CG-4A and Horsa are about the same, along with the Zwilling.
