Trumpeter kit. Nice quick build. Going good so far and these rubber band tracks are pretty darn decent, although the instructions say they glue together with hobby glue, that's funny. I actually got them back together with the staples the instruction sheet is put together with. The fit was pretty tight so I soaked the tracks in hot water for 5 minutes or so for a little more workability. They went on fine then.

The kit is pretty basic with all hatches molded closed but I wanted at least one open so I started drilling. It went good and in only a couple minutes I had it opened up. I have the replacement made out of some plastic sheet I had laying around and will add that last.

I’ve heard those trumpeter 1/72 scale armor kits are actually pretty nice. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one.

A 1/72 scale Trumpeter tracked vehicle build with separate road wheels and drive wheels a quick build?? It does look like a nice kit indeed.

Stapled tracks. I took them from the instruction sheets, I hide them under the road wheels. But look how nice those tracks are. Damn shame the glueing doesn't work.

I’m guessing that they’re on there too tight to glue. Looks like you found something that would work. Great idea!

That’s really good to hear. I built a Bf109 from them about 12 years ago and swore I’d never build another Trumpeter model.

The PzIV L/70 usually carried rack of spare track across the back of the rear plate. Trumpeter does not supply this so I canabalized an old Panzer wreck for the spare track then built the holder/rack from scrap plastic. Rack and tracks in place.

Hats off to anyone who builds 1/72 armor and makes it look good! Are you going to do an ambush scheme on this one?

Two pieces of sprue make a pretty convincing fighting compartment periscope. Re. Stik, not sure on paint scheme yet but ambush definitely in the mix.

I had some Dragon 1/72 kits but in the end I sold them at a bring and buy table at a show for £10 each they sold before the doors opened maybe I should have asked a bit more for them, they was a bit small for me

And as for being a "bit small" I know where you are coming from but they are a great way to practice problem solving and minor scratch building that you wouldn't even try on a $60-80 kit for fear of ruining the build. And at 64 yo it's nice to know I can still work with small details. That doesn't mean I haven't been on hands and knees with this kit looking for dropped parts! Happy building to you!

Still working on it. I like ambush scheme until I do it. Of course it's all glossy now for decals and washes, I will see how it goes with weathering and if I don't like what I see I'll whitewash it!

That's just the start of things here Mike and it looks good so far. I'm sure after all the weathering and all the effects that you'll be putting into this one that it'll start taking on more of what you're after. Looking forward to more........
