Like I was saying.....the decals are gonna set this baby off and buddy......it sure did THAT! It's funny how just a few decals can change everything in a build. Every update on this aircraft is a true joy to watch. Keep 'er comin' Rod....I've got a front row seat.

I'm looking for a way to get just the right shade of weathering, not too light, not too heavy... I was thinking of using an oil wash with Payne's Grey to accentuate the panelling, trying to break up the monotony of the grey with patches of lighter colour. As always, any tips are welcome... BTW Thank you very much for your appreciation

BTW Thank you very much for your appreciation At this point in the build you're options are, as you've mentioned, a light wash. I ran into the same issue you're having on my RFM VW. It was all gray and I didn't lay down a warbel pattern before the paint job and it seemed a little bland to me. I had used acrylic paint on it so I mixed a very light dark wash solution and airbrushed it over the whole car, let it dry and it seemed to work. Which took it from this...without the wash: to this with the wash:

I have since learned that if I want tonal variations in the paint that it's mostly in the foundation work on aircraft since most of 'em aren't just beat to hell like armor is. I start with a black base: follow it up with a gray warble pattern over the entire bird: and in the case of my 262 I accented the panel lines for a bit more depth: The turn out was well worth every bit of the prep work:

Very nice! It looks like it was a really pleasant aircraft to fly. You did a very nice job on this build... slightly worn, but not obviously abused.

It really looks great! I also love the base... it was a fun build to follow and thank you for doing this to keep us entertained and educated since some of us don't know about this certain plane.
