Very nice! I like how some German units went all out with the yellow ID color during the Battle of Britain.

I love it! BUT no way I will let them paint yellow on my Me-109 if I was the pilot. LOL

That's a good looking 109. I've always liked the yellow on the nose of these 109's. Gives 'em a little different look. Excellent work on this beauty of an aircraft. 109's and 190's are my all time faves Johnny.

The Emil is my favorite 109 variant. The color scheme you put on this is wonderful and looks perfect

I love it! BUT no way I will let them paint yellow on my Me-109 if I was the pilot. LOL You would if you had to fly back over a bunch of nervous German AA crews along the coast of France with almost no fuel left!

Do they give any info on the aircraft itself? I have a buddy that can actually search in German which really increases the odd's of finding such info.

That is a really sharp looking 109 TJ. Your paint and weathering are quite excellent. Include me also as to being partial to the yellow paint on the Emils. Makes them very distinctive and cool to boot.

Just wish I could find the name of the pilot for this one Well, your aircraft has the badge of JG 52 and the chevron markings for the I Gruppen Kommodore. It shouldn’t be too hard to track down who held that position in summer/fall 1940.

The WW2 Talk thread link doesn’t work properly… 🤨 Odd. Doesn't say much anyway. The the guy lasted about a month before being shot down and captured. Not much more about him.

The aircraft might be of his replacement, as from what I read, I.LG-2 came under the operational command of JG-52 in late 1940, which would explain the JG-52 badge under the cockpit. That’s the stumper here. There was a similarly marked aircraft from I/JG-52, but they also carried the I/JG-52 emblem aft of the fuselage cross. I’ve been doing a bit of reading to ID this aircraft as well.

I figured out the JG52 and that's it www.ultracast.ca/product-p/es48123.htm

That is almost the same picture I posted earlier. It was Bernhardt’s plane.

That is almost the same picture I posted earlier. It was Bernhardt’s plane. Your pic is just a little different. There is no paint on the ailerons and flaps. Also the horizontal stabs are all yellow. This one has the just the elevators painted. And the spinners are different. I want to thank you for getting me going in the right direction.
