This is my second Stryker, the Trumpeter 1/35 Stryker Engineering Squad Vehicle. This has the Surface Mine Plow on the front. This might be part of a larger diorama eventually. So far I've gotten the lower and upper hull done, leaving the wheels off till after painting. I've also left off a lot of the smaller parts off till painting. I've had a little problem getting the rear part attached but I got it worked out.

Today I've been working on the smaller pieces that get added to the rear. Now I'm starting on the 50cal weapon station to go on top.

Got the weapon station built. I'll paint everything before adding to the Stryker.

This one’s coming together well. How detailed is the interior Mike?

WOW!!! I’m surprised to hear that.
It's certainly not a deal breaker with the build that you've got going on here as I'm going to love watching this one come together. You always do very convincing work.

I could swear that somebody out there makes an interior(s) for the Strikers. I remember one of the guys in So.Cal.AMPS doing one for a review he did online...

I looked and found that Legends does an engine compartment, and a driver's compartment... I can't find any troop compartment/fighting compartment sets so far.

Great start! Those BIG rivets is one of things that I love about the Strykers!

I wish they'd do a full interior Stryker. Maybe for the troop carrier version or something.

Started work on the surface mine plow. This is a very complicated part of the build. Several sections had to be joined together without gluing, but there's no way to keep it together with out glue. There's pins that hold it all together. So I added a drop of super glue to the top of the pin so that everything would still move without the pics coming out. Then there are the front plow sections. These are so complicated that they give you a jig to line everything up. This will definitely take some time to build.

That DOES look complicated Mike. It looks like Trumpeter is making up for the loss of interior detail on the outside of the vehicle which is gonna be very cool to see once it's all painted up and detailed. Looking great so far.

Well it looks like that’s for the infantry version. I thought about the slat armor but they don’t make it for the engineering version. Something else that’s missing is the trailer that the ESV sometimes uses.

I would love to see one of these builds in action with a full interior.

I have a lot of the sub-assemblies done and the plow is almost completed. I think I'm going to have to start painting soon.

That plow looks very intricate. Now you have a choice of painting... NATO Green or CARC Green (the exact same color with different names... )

That is an extremely cool kit. You are doing a bang up job of assembling that complex critter. Some really sharp detail on that kit. I am looking forward to seeing the paint and weathering you put to this.
