After being badgered by the host, I caved in and joined the AMSHOW Podcast's A-4 Skyhawk GB. Since I already had the Hasegawa kit, it wasn't too hard to get me to join. I also have the Caracal Decal set for the A-4M. I'll probably do a test jet.

Somehow I've never come across that Caracal sheet? The bottom bird is pretty sweet!

There's six different jet in the decal sheet. Not sure which one I'll do yet.

These are already cool aircraft and then you get one of these kits in your hands. I can't wait to see what you'll be doing with this Mike.

So I taped up the fuselage to check the basic fit and damn. It's almost Tamiya like fit.

After careful consideration and a tie breaking vote by SWMBO, this will be the scheme I'm doing (the black and white one). This is one that I haven't seen done a billion times.

I've never seen this scheme done on a model so I wanted to do it.

Said it before, say it again...loves my the Scoots. When I get around to mine I plan on doing the tired ol' 214 Black Sheep Sqdn. "Pappy" Boyington was raised in my home town of Coeur d' Alene Idaho. Mine will be a " Mike" also. Looking fotward to seeing the scheme your going with Meds71 looks exciting, definitly an eye catcher.

Good move opting for B &W paint because I don't think I have ever seen one anywhere online or at shows!

I've added the airbrakes and they sit closed pretty decently. Might take a little sanding later to fair them in completely.

I also got cockpit painted for the Skyhawk. Just like the Prowler, I need to paint the details and put it all together.

Tiny little thing aint it? I'm amazed at how small these aircraft are and then again in scale. Lookin' good so far Mike.

Good luck with this build. One moment to pay attention- top wing surface at the slats area, real thing didn't have any step here, as Hasegawa made.

Yeah I've seen all about that. Honestly, I'm not going to bother with all that.

I think that just about every model company has molded that recess for the slat in place.

Same here, Carlos. Only other way to do it would be a slats deployed option only. Which in most cases would work for me!

Man I got a lot accomplished on the Skyhawk. It's almost completely built up now and keep can't really go any further without some painting.

Well I was WRONG. I just seen a picture of an A-4M flying for the Argentine Air Force and low and behold right there on the Starboard wing to fuselage join is a gigantic tube that can only be a gun. I was wrong, misinformed, and truly didn't do enough research before spewing what I thought was good skinny.
By the way how is this build coming? I do love me a nice scooter.

It's on the bench but I've been working on the Prowler right now. I'll get back to it soon.
