Tamiya 1/35 Initial Tiger I WIP - Final Update

Finally got all those wheels wrapped up. On to more surface weathering.

Finally made it to the decals. I looked over my sheet of STAR DECALS, for Tunisia tigers. They’re so out of register, it looks like a 4yr old printed them! Now I need to wait another week for replacements.

Maybe Hans just had one to may pilsners before he painted them on.

FINALLY, made it back to the bench. With the decal debacle sorted out, I could focus on giving depth to the flat yellow finish. I forced shadows with Vallejo Nato Black and highlighted areas of wear and grime with Vallejo Dirt. Next are tracks and more weathering layers.

Hello friends. For those following along, here is probably the second to last update. The exhaust is complete and all of the external elements like tow cables and tools have been applied. Next comes chipping, hand painting the tools, a light dried mud application on the running gear, wheels and hull, tracks, then a light coat of dust and I think it’s done! Man, I thought Luftwaffe aircraft took a long time. Seems like every time I look at the vehicle, there’s another layer of something that can be added. BTW, not certain what that yellow skeleton is. Looks like a lurking cat. I don’t think it was applied to this particular vehicle but I thought it looked cool, so I added it. 🍻

Now that’s pretty cool. I’ve seen the Knight on the horse, and the elephant in literature, but I’ve never seen the others. Never knew there were that many units either.

Howdy folks! Final update, next will be the final result. Chipping done and wear added to the running gear. All that’s left are tools, a little mud, and I’ll call her done. I wanted to go easy on the chipping, but of course I over did it in areas; but I’m happy nonetheless. Thanks for looking!
