The build on the gun is superb and the figures......wow! I love the repositioning modifications you've done. 25 year hiatus from model building? Appears that you haven't lost the touch at all! Cheers, C.

Back on the Flak 37, primed and base coated with Vallejo Dunkelgelb German Dark Yellow AFV Paining System to give some colour modulation. It has had a coat of satin varnish ready for the next stage weathering with oil paints.

Your approach of sub assemblies painting and weathering is paying off bigtime.

If this is the work you make after all that time off, you will be scary good with some practice. Amazing workmanship and skill.

I have just about completed the gun base and gun now, only a little bit of weathering and blending into the scene left.

Here are a couple of before and after photos of the weathering on the gun carriage. I still have some chipping to add to the carriage and the gun, what colour do you guys suggest to use for chipping. Looking at colour photos from German guns in WW2 it looks like chipped paint shows a red oxide primer, would you guys agree?

I did a bit of blending and some highlighting. I am happy with the result. Another before and after to show the full difference on the weathering. now to tackle the other carriage.

You did good on the chipping using the red oxide primer effects Stuart. The combination of detailing and weathering is sure bringing this one to a lifelike look man.
In looking at that before and after picture with the weathering effects, one can most certainly tell the amount of work & time that you are putting into this.
